$425,000 Bmw Z4 Gt3

Although BMW hasn't released pics yet, the factory-built Z4 will be powered by an uprated version of the M3's 4.0-liter V8 currently fitted to the race-ready M3 GT2. Controlled by a Type-408 ECU and Power400 control unit, the 4.0-liter V8 is good for a claimed 480 horsepower and sends its ample grunt through a standard six-speed sequential gearbox. Central-locking wheels, ABS and a host of other kit will allow the Z4 GT3 to campaign in a number of sanctioned events, including the FIA GT3 European Championship, International GT Open, ADAC GT Masters and several 24-hour enduros

Very nice. Of course we on this side of the ocean won't be getting it.

I guess the guy who pays $425,000 for this beamer can park it beside his LFA

Yeah, Id rather have this than a Murcielago, or 2 SL65s, or 2 DBSs... yeah

It's probably cheaper to buy a Z4 coupe, tweak the suspension/brakes/aero, and buy a spare S65 to drop into it.

I was thinking the same thing, I know it's not a full on race-car, but I'd prefer to spend my money on a Scuderia, and do ignorant crap with the difference (like making it rain in the clubs). In actuality, I would need to see some pics and chassis specs, however this is a pretty steep price.

I'm fairly sure you can get one in the US since the car isn't meant to be a legal road-going car --- it's a purpose-built race car, like the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

It's good to see that BMW is going to race the Z4 officially. It's too bad they never raced the Z coupes more seriously when there were Z coupes to be had. Lots of privateer efforts, but I think there was that 1 Z3 Coupe that was factory-supported, and nothing else.

They did this with the previous Z4 as well. The full-on race version of the E86 coupe was ~$400,000.

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/12/t...ong-like-bull/ I think that car was in the same budget--- throw a lambo engine in whatever car you like at the end of it all, you have a lambo shell and a brand new 0 mile mustang engine/drive train + full interior.

$425k for a souped-up Z4? It's nice, but not $425K nice, may be $100k nice. There're so many better and more exotic choices at that price level or below.
