Colonoscopy prep - Page 2

Dude at work had some prep stuff that he was swilling last week.
He spent a lot of time away from his desk taking care of business.
The rest of us were wondering wtf he didn't take the day off.

That's why I chose to have the procedure on Monday so that I could prep in my own home on Sunday. I can't imagine going through the prep process while working.

Wow. He must be really dedicated to his work. My procedure was on a Tuesday, so I took Monday afternoon off to begin prepping.
I remember having to shit every 5 mins. I was pretty much sitting on the toilet for about 6 hours straight.
I too did not drink the entire gallon of the cleansing drink, which I thought did not taste too bad. After about 1/2 gallon, the shit was pretty much all liquid.

I just had one last week. As other posters have stated, it's a breeze.

Regarding the refreshing prep drink-I would just chug each glass in a one gulp. It took me three hours, but I finished it all. The last thing I wanted was to not be 'running clear', resulting in having to repeat the procedure. I, too, felt the chills, etc.

I was expecting to be out of it the next day-you're required to have someone pick you up-but i could've really went home by myself. Went to a party that evening.

I never thought I would write this next line here or anywhere else. If your ass gets raw, keep some vaseline handy.

If your test goes fine your clear for ten years. good luck

Oh man the second I read this I was thinking something totally different, and horrible.

Good to hear that all went well.

When I had mine they said I could mix it with Crystal Lite. Anything except red CL that is.

My experience too.

Prep was no big deal. I drank about half of the solution, waited 60 minutes and sat on the john. Had a dinner of about a gallon of chicken broth and went to bed. Woke up and drank second half of solution which completely cleaned me out. The stuff tasted like hell but no discomfort.

The drugs were world-class. Two seconds after they entered my body, I was out. Came to in recovery room. Wife drove me home where I slept off the last of the meds. Was at my desk in the office by 3pm. My butt felt/worked fine. No pain, no bleeding, no nothing.

Anyone who doesn't have my exact experience is going to a gastro doc who is not using state-of-the art methods.

Well, I didn't do the chicken broth but other than that, similar experience (yes, I am joking around). I too was out as soon as the drugs started - I don't remember a thing.

To the OP - glad to hear it went well.

These things suck. I refused to take the damn prep kit the last time or two, and have came out perfectly fine. I just ate light meals after ~36 hours, started fasting a little earlier, and took a few Dulcolax's instead of that god aweful demon-liquid they prescribe you. Squeaky clean. That aside, the worst part is the hunger. I have a voracious appetite. Chicken broth mixed with considerable slabs of melted butter, and copious amounts of light alcohols made the experience more tolerable.
