So I submitted an internship application on 12/4. In the letter, I indicated I would follow up two weeks later. Left a message for the internship guy last Thursday (12/17) and still haven't heard back. Should I call again tomorrow? What's the proper waiting period if you don't hear back right away?

This isnt the 80's. People dont want to be bothered by a hundred people following up on submitting an application. Follow up after an interview, not an application.

Keep calling until they move. If you've lost the job, calling won't make it any worse. Who knows they might like your interest.

+1

I don't see how following up can help you. They have your application. Let the process run its course. I've never heard of anyone following up on an application.

Well they tehcnically finished for the year last Wednesday so the guy may not be in the office. I will wait to hear.

BTW all the people I talked to told me to put in a "I will follow up within two weeks" clause.

epic story.

my friend interview first week of november for a job. doesn;t hear back for a day so calls 4x over 3 days.
says he has another offer (doesn;t) but that they're his first choice. says it is common courtesy for him to give them right of first refusal, they are his first choice. also, says he needs an extra 15k over original asking price for aggravation.

they finally call and tell him never again to inquire with their agency.

Has the guy ever held a job before?
