Rotating skin care products

Hey guy, I have a little doubt here.

Do you think it's ok for anyone to use the same skin care product(s) (cleanser, moisturizer, wichever) straight for several years, and still have the same benefits as when he started using it, or does your skin becomes used to it and stops reacting the same way (product looses it's eficiency)? The other day a SA from a cosmetic store told me that I should change my products every now and then so that my skin doesn't get "used to it".

What do you think about it?

Thanks

I agree with the SA. My friend was a makeup artist for Giorgio Armani and told me the same thing. I don't know how often it is, but I tend to change between two brands that work for me every 12 months otherwise your skin begins to get used to the products

That's what I was planning to do, stickingwith the 2 brands that work best for me, and rotating them, using the complete skin care line from one brand at a time. 12 months sound good. I like to use every producs from one brand, I think it works better than mixing several products from different brands that aren't suppose to work togheter.

you have to be careful there.. just because one product (cleanser from brand A) works great, doesn't mean the exfoliator, toner and mask are going to be great as well.

at the moment, i use hair products from one brand, cleanser + toner + moisturisor from another brand, mask from another and toner + serum from another... you need to experiment and when you find a product that works stick to it.. doesn't have to be all from the same brand

Switching it up is also asking for breakouts. Your skin getting used to something and it no longer working I think is one of those beauty product myths that goes around. There's no real basis in fact for it, but I've heard it as well.

I find this to be true for hair care products. Not my experience with skin care.
