1) What new (recorded within the last 12 months) jazz have you been listening to lately?
Who have you heard live lately that was awesome?

2) What old (at least 1 year old) jazz have you been listening to lately?

3) If no one has already, please provide a link.

Great thread, I'd like to hear some contemp jazz. Old jazz: Lee Morgan's "The Sidewinder." That title track is so good. Also Dexter Gordon's "Go," which has a beautiful version of Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry.

I've been listening to a lot of Grant Green and Lou Donaldson. In a funky mood, I guess.

I don't know too much about jazz, but...

I like very much Dave Brubeck (old - Radondo Turk is fantastic), Bablicon (new and with a twist), and Sophie Tucker (older - Is ragtime jazz?).

Do you have Anthony Wilson's "Jack of Hearts" on cd or vinyl LP? Maybe both? If so, how do compare the sounds?

No one's home right now so I have Lee blasting on the sound system. "The Sidewinder" is really one of the great jazz tunes.
