Random health and exercise thoughts - Page 3807

Does anybody have any experience with noo tropics that are readily available? I have a few job interviews coming up and I'd like to reduce the anxiety/stress and feign relaxation and confidence. Maybe weed is better but I haven't smoked in 10+ years. The only real pre-made one I can find is "Brain Candy" but it's Biotest. A lot of the ingredients seem to be good from what I can find on noo tropics but I'm far from well versed.
If it's all just BS then I will still try for the placebo effect.

Hows everyone in here doing?

Hating my cut. The plan is to drop weight classes from 90kg to 82.5kg and boost my squat up once I start bulking again. It's currently at 470 lbs and I'd like to get it to about 510 lbs or so. Then maybe go crazy on bench from there. That would be fantastic for my next competition. I just need to get through this cut first. Can't wait until I shed the flat so I can bulk and go crazy or at least as crazy as a 40-something can go and still recover.

I do. You aren't going to get a significant anxiolytic effect. As far as traditional nootropic effects they will work but if you need something next level I would be playing with pramiracetam. I liked pramiracetam while on it but tended to get headaches as it wore off.

I have interviews coming up too so I definitely feel you there on the nerves / jitters. My recommendation? Destroy that anxiety by knowing your story, know your resume, know your skills and accomplishments, and know the company.

Research the shit out of them. Come up with brilliant questions to ask them. Go in knowing you've given it your all and have all your shit together.

The confidence you'll derive from that will put to shame any potential "benefits" an off the shelf nootropic may provide.

Good to hear everyone is well in the RHET world.

Nootropics? Adderall is what you want.

I use Modvigil on occasion, very smooth w/ long sustained mental focus and energy. No crash to speak of. Great for when you're tired yet need to be alert and able to concentrate. Some people do a 5 day on 2 day off to avoid building tolerance. Brightens the mood as well and has been better than any anti depressant I've tried in terms of getting up and getting shit done.

Since I haven't gotten a single fucking non bro science bullshit answer I'm coming to you nerds (Conceptionist comes to mind). Now that I'm training more as a supplement for Bjj do you think I should largely abandon back squat for front, zerchers and single leg work? This is my gut feeling but I don't know if I'm not seeing an angle someone else who understands body mechanics would see.

Yeah... I'm curious how it'd work for studying, especially come exam time next year. The studies are good. It's not habit forming. Side effect profile is pretty much perfect

Try pramirametam. It's not too expensive to experiment with.

Don't really need that kind of stimulant, I don't think. Already have a prescription for methylphenidate, which works pretty well. The provigil level stuff is a totally different ball game though, I feel.

It shouldn't matter too much. The difference between front and back squat isn't all that great. Front squats are just harder because it's mechanically harder for the back to help.

Back squat is better bang-for-the-buck than front, if I had to choose. But any of those options would be fine, IMO. Whichever you can keep up the longest.

What do you mean wut?

Never done Adderall, but if it's anything like your garden variety amphetamine then I can totally understand why it'd be a good choice for study.
