Haha I was mostly talking about cycling kit being the equivalent of underwear, which is actually pretty accurate as far as protection goes.I was wearing a helmet which was cracked as fak, but atleast I didn't have to have my jaw wired shut even though I needed 4 fake teeth put in.

Tips for grocery shopping? Gonna do a 2k calorie 40/40/20 protein/fat/carbs diet for the next two weeks. Thinking of like 8 lbs of chicken breasts, 4 lbs of tilapia. Frozen veggies. Spring mix. Eggs, egg whites, almond milk. Cottage cheese. What else can I get that doesn't taste like shit?

I'd add baby spinach. Steam that up and it'll go great as a base to your proteins plus it gives you iron and mixes it up from the spring mix.

I know you're low carb, but some berries in the morning might be good for the antioxidants and they pack a punch, plus good fiber.

if you're going that high fat why not buy fattier meat to braise/slow cook. It's easier and tastier than reheating chicken breasts, which kind of blow when reheated.

Got a pork roast going in the slow cooker right now cause it's an exam week and there's no way I'll be able to cook at all.

exactly. Plus you can easily toss it with some sort of sauce to adapt it to different meals so you're not eating the same thing over and over.

Haven't done that yet though.
One of my housemates and I tend to split what we cook. We have two slow cookers so we might start making two recipes at the same time for the reason you describe.

The calories besides protein are so little that I thought fat would be better cuz more filling, not trying to eat strictly keto. I can do pork shoulder but the calories are harder to count with the fat mixed in.

Why? Divide it up by weight? You know the relative amount of fat/protein in a given weight of the stuff.

and also I thought eating lean meat and unsaturated fats is better than eating saturated fat from meats.

I wouldn't cut on 2000 calories.

Start higher and only lower in increments of 100-200 once weight loss of 0.5-1 lbs a week stalls for two weeks.

It's 500 under for me. I'm setting activity level as sedentary cuz when I'm not in the gym, I'm pretty much sitting completely still.

just take fish oil and don't eat a lot of other saturated fat and you'll be fine. Or eat a fuckload of tough flavorless chicken breasts smothered in hot sauce like every other culinarily uncreative meathead :P.

Or just get all of your protein from seitan, soymilk, tofu and greek yogurt like me. Seitan actually has great protein macros and is easy to prepare yourself.

Total calories > macros > micronutrients.

2500 sounds very low for a grown male.

I def wouldn't go on a 500 deficit directly, more like 200 to start. Your weight loss will eventually stall before you hit your goal weight unless you decrease calories further. How low calories do you think you can manage?

Sub 2000 calories a day is not fun nor particularly good for your physical and mental well being. Studying (if you are in school) and training will most likely suck, from my experience with cutting. But its your choice.
