Are Kierin cuts not a thing anymore? Finally have enough dollars in the clothes budget to justify buying nice pants and they're discontinued. I see there's jeans going by the same name, but they're branded as "relaxed fit" and don't have a hem measurement which worries me, not to mention the site looks like a bad ripoff.

RHET bros I have not lifted in almost a year. FML. Almost got banned from college gym for not being polite about deadlifting, so I just stopped going, and finding gyms traveling got frustrating. Spent 6 weeks out of town this summer. Between holidays and work I'm traveling 12 out of the 15 weeks from mid-Sept to the end of the year.

On the plus side I lost 25 lbs., dropped a pants size, and just generally am not as much of a fat ass anymore, even though I'm weak and out of shape.

I wish there was a lifter-friendly national chain. YMCAs are hit and miss. They're building a new main YMCA in my city, and there's no real weight room.

How were you dead lifting impolitely?
😆

Apparently you're not allowed to make any noise putting the bar down, even though they had rubberized plates and Olympic platforms.

Every college gym I've ever been in had multiple platforms designed for deadlifting and olympic lifts. Go to a wealthier school.

Kidding, kind of. Check over on EliteFTS for powerlifting gyms

We have multiple platforms for deadlifting. But there is one student manager who thinks that any noise of weights hitting platform = "dropping the weights"

Hey guys, can anyone help me figure out what's going on with my right elbow? I recently started adding preacher curls to my bicep workout and since I added them on Monday, my right elbow has had some mild pain whenever I bend it.

I don't know jack shit about anatomy, but it almost feels like a ligament shifted positions and now whenever I fully bend my elbow (v-shape where it meets my bicep), it feels like something inside it is pulling or tugging and then I get a mildly sharp pain.

Similarly, when the arm is completely straight, I get a sharp-ish pain when I straighten it further with some pressure. It also makes a clicking feeling and sound whenever I bend it.

Is this tendonitis? Wondering if I just need to rest for a couple days or need to see a doctor.

Srsly though I hate this. Deadlifting is another thing entirely, but if you can't put your fucking dumbbells down without crashing the entire goddamn rack or floor then maybe you should lighten the load there Conan.

Funny enough they don't seem to care about people dropping dumbbells. Dropping a 100 lb. dumbbell from the top of a bench press... totally cool.

Short update from a powerlifting meet today.

Weighted in at 198 lbs.

Squat

Previous best was 330. Equaled that for my second and made 347 in my third. Wanted 355 but my left knee bothered me a bit, so decided to play it safer.

Bench

Again, took my previous best 255 for second lift and managed to grind out 265 for my last try.

Deadlift

Opened easy with 385, equaled my training best of 420 for the second, and got 445 for my last lift of the day for a meet PR of 35 lbs.

Total

480 kg / 1060 lbs (which was the exact goal I set after my last meet in May). +27.5 kg / +60 lbs from that meet.

Goal for next meet is 500 kg / 1100 lbs with a 365 squat, 275 bench and 465 deadlift. Will also start gaining weight again.

Could it be from changing gears on your new ride?

Srsly, check your form and go easy for a few days, if not better, then see a doc.

I took four days off and it improved noticeably. Went yesterday and only did chest, back, and shoulders and didn't feel anything particularly bad with my elbow.

But today, damn. It hurts again. I need to get this checked out 😔

I just don't understand what happened. It feels like the tendons or ligaments shifted positions or something.
