i think I'm gonna have to go to NYSC in SoHo. $20/mo only. Hoping they have squat racks and aren't too packed...

Shitty reviews, though:

Also shitty hours.

watching KC's various NYC delusions evaporate one by one is really enjoyable to watch.

NYSC on Broadway sounds somewhat shitty but is still an option. Crunch sounds shitty but is still an option. No idea what else is out there that isn't insanely expensive or terrible.

No idea how close this is to you, but when I was in NY for vacation a while back I trained at 24 hour fitness on Crosby. Pretty good commercial gym tbh. Squat and bench racks, lots of space, heavy weights, etc.

I had a discount from my hotel so no idea on prices.

Went to Palladium. Coles doesn't have A/C and they're closing it in a couple months to knock it down and build a new building.

You can't workout without AC?

Always nice to show up at the gym as the first person Sunday morning, only to discover the last people there yesterday had left all the weights all over the place and forgot their stinking (still moist tees on of the floor).

I had to start with a 5 min clean up, so could create some space.

NYSC is shitty in general and getting shittier as they drop rates to up membership. I have been (and still am - no convenient competitors where I am) a member at various nyc area locations. Maybe it's me getting older but my experience is the service gets worse and worse and the overall male clientele has a higher and higher percentage of scumbags and weirdos.

Agreed, nysc is crap but it can't possibly be worse than synergy

Trainers complimented my wife on her ass on numerous occasions
One of the TRAINERS would leave weights all over the place
Canceling membership was a nightmare

Ultimately there is no relief as NYC just doesn't have enough gyms. Best bet is to do nysc early afternoon when nobody is there. I don't miss it at all

Not when it's 85 degrees out.

worst thing about no AC is the smell, everyone using power racks is always wearing sleeveless shirts with no deodorant.
