yup. Chuck roast is good, though I use top round if i want it to be leaner (though taste suffers). Brisket makes it more like chipotle's barbacoa. I have a batch of chuck cooking away now.
You can shred it woth forks, or if you have a stand mixer it does a good job of shredding meat. Just put the meat back in the braising liquid to store. It actually gets a lot better the longer it sits.
One way to make it even better is to make your own chili powder using dried chillis. A sample recipe is here
but I just use whatever chilis i have lying around and it always comes out good.
