I'm no doctor, but it depends on the injury and the reconstruction.

Many people that get surgery have a higher propensity to get injured again, whether that's because of the activity they're doing or the surgery I'm not sure.


Again. I'd need to dig into this to figure out a bit of stuff, but I don't think there's ever a 100% after surgeries like this. It's still a weak spot.

lost about 5 lbs in the past month. 1.25 lbs/wk is pretty good. Considering dropping another 100 cals and seeing if that affects my lifts (still keeping protein at 180g/day). Still looking at like a solid 6 months of cutting if I drop at this rate, which suckssss.

How much do you guys usually lose on a cut? 10-12 lbs?

went 220ish to 185 last cut because i was dry as fuck. 5lb a month seems really slow considering a decent amount of that is going to be water initially.

At your BF you can drop more than 1.25lbs/week

I was dropping four or five pounds a week the first three weeks of mine, but that was coming from near total inactivity and awful diet. It's steadied to about two pounds a week since then. Could definitely be more if my sodium was lower and I was eating more vegetables. At this rate, I'm figuring I'll be in a really good place by early September, which is just fine by me considering where I was two months ago.

Finally done with PT and winding down school so I can finally hit the gym 2-3 times a week instead of like, 1. Splitting into upper and lower body with a pretty decent routine to work around my injuries:

Upper:
Cardio (to get running mileage up)
Push Up 3xf
Incline Push up 3xf
Pull up 5xf
DB Curl 3x10
DB Shoulder Press 3x10

Lower:
Cardio
Smith Squat (heavy) 3x5-8
Smith Squat (light) 5x10
Leg Press 3x10
Glute Push 3x10
Planks

Hopefully I can do this 2 times a week and do yoga once or twice a week. Scheduling/injuries are such a bitch.

I dropped about 13lbs between Feb 1- Apr 2.

Something else to consider, and I dont mean this as a swipe at others, are supplements. I averaged about 1.25 lbs/wk as well, but that was with absolutely no supplements. I don't even do caffeine. Fucks with my sleep and sleep is God to me. I think you will be fine with another 100kcal off.

Anyone know what the deal is with cardio... I have heard LISS is bad, and I have heard HIIT is bad. I am looking to start squatting 3x/week and I also want to ride my bike 3x/week for this second leg of my cut.

The general impression I have gotten (and correct this if it is wrong) is that HIIT is superior for those who do strength training, if you can recover from it adequately.

CTK, i doubt you're going to ride your bike for long enough for it to vee bad... Just make sure you do the BCAA shit and keep your portion up if you're that worried.

HIIT might negatively impact your lifting due to recovery as conceptionist hinted.

I've been squatting 3 times a week in addition to Muay Thai (HIIT) and 3-4 mile slower jogs and haven't noticed any negative affects once I got used to it. Your best bet is just trying out whichever you like better and seeing how it feels.

looks like I'm done doing this shit with my girlfriend. Bishes can't comprehend that sometimes talking about weight, when you're working on weight loss together, isn't being offensive to their body image and self confidence. She took it personally when I recommended she eat 100 less cals a day because she wasn't seeing progress then started complaining about how eating so little causes her to binge and how she wanted to increase her calories (wat). Makes no sense.

Surprised no one asked KC how much weight he was trying to lose/what his goal was. Otherwise all the recommendations of 'you could lose more weight/week' are pretty pointless. If he's only trying to get down to 15-12%, he doesn't need to be losing 3 lb a week, he can stay at current approach, and maybe drop 100kcal in a week or two and be good.

Yeah, and new research also shows that you can recover just as much with rehab as with surgery (at least that's what they told me), and that's fairly positive as you don't have to deal with the operation which will set you back even further. Risk for osteoarthritis is increased with or without surgery, so that's kinda a bummer.
