so I usually rest for about 3:30 between the first work sets, and close to 5min for the later ones. But sometimes I find that 5min may be too long and it feels like I've gone "cold." Is there like a general guideline for rest time, and what I should be doing when resting? I usually do 5 reps of 4-5 sets.

Meet yesterday.

Got 150 kg (330 lbs) in squat, 115 kg (253), and 187.5 kg (413) in deadlift. 452.5 kg (997) total. So close to 1000 pound club

Anyway, there was def room for more in the squat and deadlift. Still have a hard time judging what my capacity is. Overall very happy though cause PRd in all lifts and went 9 for 9.

Goal for next meet in Nov is 165 (365) squat, 122.5 (270) bench, and 200 (440) dealift. Would be a 487. kg (1080) total.

There are guidelines for this on the Sheiko forum. Search there.

As a quick guideline though, rest time increases with reps.

The findings seem to be in line with current knowledge.

There's a study where they found the same growth with 5 reps > 90% of 1RM and as many reps as possible to failure @ 30% of 1RM with occlussion.

Most good PL programs based on percentages have a higher average intensity for bench press in comparison to squat and deadlift. The bench can often and often needs to be trained heavier and with higher volumes. Similar to the findings of that study.

I think many people who primarily lift for size and aesthetics still train heavy because its fun and challenging in a different way to high reps.

I think it's important to hit all rep ranges. Obviously you cater towards your goal but never lifting heavy is missing out on a whole host of benefits, as is never lifting over 8 reps. And
Then when it comes to things like cluster reps, if you do it right you can get the benefits of both high load and high tut.

About a month into the cut. Girlfriend and I had a date night last night. I took her to this place that had like those bouncy castle obstacle course things, laser tag, rock climbing and video games. Thought it'd be a good active thing to do.

Only problem was she wanted to get dinner beforehand. Went to a mexican place. I got a taco salad with crema/ranch/cheddar on the side and one tamale, she got the three taco plate with rice and beans. At the date place I had three lite beers (all within my diet). She had three craft beers. She's at the store right now to get ingredients to make breakfast burritos and complained when I said I didn't want mimosas because I didn't want to waste the calories.

Here we go again. At least I'm on track. So fucking annoying.

One night out every now and then wont kill your cut.

Re: rep ranges... staying at 6 reps and over has helped keep me injury free for the longest period I can remember.

One weekend that turns into a week will kill hers. Then I'll hear "yeah I really have to get back into it".

Also, I'm only taking a break every 10 lbs. When I get into the 180's I'll have a pizza or something. Then go hard until the 170's.

Lel used to bring scales to my ex gfs house and weigh condiments when I was eating. Made her self conscious as fuck. She lived with some fatties too so it made them angry.

Should I get a job being a naked/wearing gimp shit waiter at sex parties in Chelsea for $130 an hour? It's the most expensive part of London so it's obviously quite safe, seems like it would be jokes. They're 12 hours long, but $1560 for a days work doesnt seem bad.

Congrats! Why do you favor the overhand grip instead of the mix grip even during meets?
