I only really see a problem with locking out if you are violently extended your knees.

With that said, constant tension squats are amazing.

Joints aren't as strong as muscles do locking out on a joint can be an issue.

Saw a guy at the climbing gym I've been going to do atg squats with such bad form and buttwink that i almost took him aside. Decided it just want my place...

You shouldn't lock your knees fully, that's when it becomes snap city if your joints are too weak. I doubt many people overextend that much though.

thats basically correct, just eat veggies and lean protein if you are going to drink and you avoid the problem.
