Being fat is not a necessity for power lifters, it's most definitely not necessary for a recreational lifter trying to reach some low limit arbitrary goal of 1,000lbs total.
And just so we're clear, we all understand that 1000lbs is not a lot of weight, right? If you're a pler would you hit that number from good training and developing good technique while you are still on the beginninger phase, if you're a recreational bber that you should get there in <2 years just from training consistently, but more importantly it doesn't fucking matter for that person because the weight you're lifting is irrelevant and a fat guy that lifts 1000lb isn't going to impress anybody. That's what people are talking about when they say you're delusional.

And what, looking like a twink with 8% is?

Check yourself. Some people prefer the softer look, some the ripped look, some in between. Worry about your own goals.

I think a lot of people are just ashamed to admit they want to be aesthetic, so they try and pretend to focus on strength. Rippletits stigma has a super far reach. Once I admitted to myself I wanted to be aesthetic and tailored my program and diet to that things got a lot easier and more satisfying.

We all want to look good naked I just don't care that much that I feel like i'm a fat fuck when I'm on a bulking up phase.

It's the best way to put on muscle.

Moreover, I don't want to get below 10%, like ever. I don't like how it looks.

And I've never had a problem getting girls anyway so that's not an issue.

yup.

The "u mirin" crew seem to be living in this fantasy land where everyone is super vain and obsessive. Noone gives a shit. Guys don't care. Girls don't care.

I'm not saying don't take care of yourself and want to look good or anything but jfc you don't need to have abs year round or even at all if you cbf. It's not that important.

Yep! Most guys don't realize this, but a lot of girls like the burly look opposed to the skinny ripped look. It's all a matter of preference.

He has pretty much stated that he cares about how he looks, otherwise he wouldn't be posting pictures asking for advice. Right now he doesn't have a soft look, he has an overweight, untrained look.

I'm not saying everybody has to be sub 10% fat, I personally prefer the softer look (like 12-13% bf), but right now it seems like his methods are completely counter productive to his goals.

Seriously, how long did it take you to reach 1000lb total? And did you get super fat to achieve it? That's all I'm getting at.

Why does it matter how long it took me? Everyone's different man. Genetics play a huge role in progress.

Btw, I don't think he looks terrible. A bit pudgy.. yea, but I wouldn't call him fat.

I guess it doesn't matter. And "super fat" is obv pretty arbitrary.

But when I see him post it's usually about reaching a 1000 total before cutting and/or not having a decent chest. Like I said it seems like his methods compete with his goals.

I think the climate has a huge role

Most of you live in frigid shitholes where you are wearing 6 layers of clothing most of the year anyway so it makes no difference whether you are shredded or not

If its a warm climate though, you can show striations and muscle definition

PT cleared me for running. Did 1 minute run/1 minute walk on the treadmill till I hit a mile.

Feels good mang.

Anwyay skeen's right I don't worry about being ripped until summer, at which point it pays off quite a bit.

The 1000 lb goal was because I'm running a strength program and it was tangible. I figured it would be worthwhile to build a base from a strength perspective first because I do want to be strong. Obviously my goal isn't to be a powerlifee but I thought it'd be good to at least be strong. And yeah from a pl perspective 1000 lbs is shit but let's be realistic here, outside of pl that's pretty damn strong, at least stronger than most average gymgoers.

Anyways, I get what everyone is saying. I just don't see it as a possibility that I'll ever be under 160 again. Then again this cut could prove me wrong. I think I have enough of a muscle base now that if I cut down to super lean I won't look like a stick and will look much better so who knows.

Also if I'm 20% bf that means cutting to 160 I'd be at 0%.

Also, check the two side shots. The one with my cawk bulge is how I'm standing to try to correct my APT. The other one is how I'm normally standing. How solid is my posture when corrected? Good or still tilted? Also as you can see when I stand with proper posture my cawk bulge is very noticeable. Again, anyone else have this problem this bad? Gym shorts, dress pants, etc. all get pulled back by my ass. Any tips appreciated. I don't get how any other guys deal with this shit.

Finally, how fat am I? How much am I looking to have to lose to get back down to a reasonable leanness? Hit my squat today, and hoping to hit my bench tomorrow, which means I'll have just 15 lbs more to go on my squat before starting the cut.

Finally FWIW this lighting looks terrible but will really help in my before photo for the comp. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Pretty fat. No offense but there might be something off with your diet or training. For as long add you have been on here, those are pretty underwhelming pics
