lolololol I love how dude is just like "Oh when I cut I will just start swimming and sprinting and cycling and taking hydroxycut no worries, this 275lbs of fat won't flop around and smack me in the head rendering me unconcious while I choke to death on my swollen organs."

cutting for me has gone way too far so it has come to an end. I lost a lot of pounds during the summer but when school started I still lived in the dorms for another year and so the weight loss has been really slow. But now, I'm glad its over and I can get back to regular lifting. I gained some strength I believe. My bench right now is 305x5. Squat is 395x8. I don't deadlift because I'm sensitive about my back and so I rarely do it but for stiff-legged its 365x2. What I did was drank some green tea (during the summer when I was home) to have the leaves shrink the fat cells. I took some muscle hydroxcut fat burners here and there but when they stopped working all of a sudden so did my taking of them. I drank two casein protein shakes a night to keep my metabolism going. Almost every night I drank a gallon of cold water. Anything else...anything else.....let's see.....nope, that's about it.

He will probably be fine. The thing is he had a plan and stuck to it, and as a result will probably make good gains in the end. Better than most people who can't make up their mind and program hop or don't see out what they started.

So related to the previous weightlifting discussion. I’ve been training in a WL club for the past 6 months so some thoughts:

  • It’s really hard. I can maybe get in 3-4 sessions per week due to work and other shit. But even at 3 sessions it leaves me really tired. The sessions are really taxing on all levels. I don’t think I’ve really felt overtraining until I started with this. Maybe I am not eating enough but that’s a different discussion I guess.
  • While training this way is probably not going to make your chest or arms as big as doing a classic bodybuilding split. If you’re unbalanced in any way it shows up in your lifts. My upper body was a lot weaker than my legs/lower back so for the first few months most of the accessory work I was given was presses/rows/benching etc.
  • The technique is a lot harder than it looks but it’s a lot more fun than anything else I’ve done in a gym. My snatch is still terrible. C&J a little better but still bad.

Thing is though, as soon as this guy goes back to eating over maintenance, all or almost all of the surplus calories will be stored as bodyfat.

The way surplus calories are stored is entirely different for a guy who has been fat and one who has not.
