Random health and exercise thoughts - Page 3451

There was a pretty good rant from Dante Trudel (creator of Dogg Crapp and owner of TrueProtein/TrueNutrition) on his Facebook the other day. Links to some test results for major support company's. One of the results showed that a claimed value of 25g of protein in 30g of material actually only provided 0.55g of protein. Another one only proved 11g. He also went over other common practices in the industry (5lbs of product is only like 70% actual ingredients and 30% flavouring and additives).
A lot of it was common knowledge but still interesting to see his pov.

So is my ON Gold Standard whey safe?
I would think so.
They did a 5 year heavy metals testing that was released a few years ago and ON were one of the only brands that should zero heavy metals. They are also one of the only brands that operate their own manufacturing facility instead of buying ingredients from a 3rd party.

Nutrabio ftw

It's not really anything new. A redditor did a pretty comprehensive list of the actual protein content of supplements compared to the claimed value a while ago, which you can see here. As you can see ON scored fairly high there. However, apparently there were some problems with the actual study, but you can read more about that in the thread here.

Yeah. A lot of it has been talked about before, and a good chunk of it is pretty obvious if you put any kind of thought into it. I just found it a bit more interesting considering who he is, especially the stuff about batch testing and cross referencing results with different labs.

I saw that study on another board and wondered where TN stood. Figures they would run the study laugh.gif I will keep fucking with them.

So what's going on with this aesthetics contest? Am I going balls deep into a diet or not?

Also how is it possible that I'm accidentally eating at maintenance for well over 6 months?

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! I am officially announcing the

RHET Aesthetics Contest

Fire up your myfitnesspal apps, find your most flattering lighting, get out your quasi-legal stimulants because we're gonna have the most nohomo shirtless pose-off this side of the subforum.

The date for entries is May 1st. (international worker's day for all you leftists)

Get cutting/bulking/riding your bicycles because I expect all of you to bring your a-game. You can PM me your entries or post them to this thread, and i'll compile them in another thread for voting.

Literally 0 restrictions on posing, lighting, etc, but try and keep the pictures natty (i.e. no photoshop/excessive photo filtering etc. etc.) I'll know shops, because I can tell from the pixels and from having seen a few shops in my time.

Also, is anyone interested in a prize fund? everyone puts in $5-10 and the winner gets the pot?
