True wheat allergies aren't all that common, but there's a lot of research that says wheat "intolerance" is, but that is a pretty vague term. I feel like there's no need to avoid wheat unless you: a) have noticeable issues when you consume it or, b) eat a LOT of it, in which case taking a break may be worthwhile to see what the difference is.

If all else fails, try it for a few weeks and see if you feel any better.

I personally rarely eat wheat just because I don't really like wheat containing foods like breads and pasta and shit.

pretty sure no allergies. I eat oatmeal/cereal for breakfast and rice/quinoa for dinner, that's my entire carb intake which rarely gets past 150g a day at 2k calories. Was wondering if I should just stick to quinoa and get fiber from fruits/veggies. Or maybe eat more carbs or something. I guess I'm just weirded out by how slow my progress is despite counting calories. May be genetics. Pretty sure I'm not doing anything really wrong and I don't have any hidden diet problems. Just highish sodium intake, upper 2k - 3k, but I drink lots of water.

Progress in terms of what: weightloss, lifts, both?

When you say slow progress are you trying to lose or gain? If you're trying to gain then 2000cals is low, and so is 150g carbs by a lot of accounts. I would add like 200-300cals/week and re-assess. If fiber is an issue you can always take psyllium husks

trying to lose, been eating at a deficit for a long time now but due to vacation, cheating, etc, my body has looked about the same for the past couple of months. I try not to go by weight as I assume muscle gain balances out fat loss. So I go by mirror and I just ordered calipers, I would guess I'm 15-18% bf. Using the "lightly active" multiplier, I think I'm around 2600 maintenance. So I aim for 2k, a bit more carbs during lift days. Lifting progress has been consistent for the past few months.

I don't know man, what's your height/weight? I'd still think 2000 cals is low. If it were me personally my first move would be to up the cals and do more work - add more training days or cardio in the morning in shorter rest-periods. Just something to make you work harder. I'd also put carbs only around your workout if you're trying to drop. 1/4 carbs before, 1/2 carbs during, 1/4 carbs post workout meal.

6ft/185lb, 2k should be like a 600 deficit.

+1

2000 calories is very low for any decently built man who lifts, even in a deficit. You have no room for further calorie restriction when the weight loss stalls - and it will.

Bump up to at least 2300-2400 and add in more work, cardio or more lifting. Its easier to add in another day on a cut than more volume on the existing days (at least for me). No energy for really long sessions.

Also echo the carb timing. That's crucial for me on low calories. Not fully sold on intra carbs though. A decent amount 1-3 hours before and the rest of the days carbs in the meal right after the session also works. I prefer real meals when cutting for the satiety.

Their glutes are hardly working because they never go for a run or do anything active. Do a bit of running and there you go, active glutes.

On the contrary, they are basically carrying around an extra 100+ lbs when they walk daily. Their glutes are still not active.
