I think for my birthday I will buy myself a massage. Not even a sports massage. Just a I'm gonna sit here with hot stones on my back and chill.

Dude. I do research in ortho spine surgery. I know what radiculopathy is lol. I was just saying that it feels similar to what was happened when I had 'true' radiculopathy, but that used to happen when standing etc as well. This is mostly just seated.

I think @MGoCrimson is right and I'm just tight. I'm not that worried about it, but it's certainly annoying. I just don't know what to do about it at this point other than warm up on a bike/elliptical and stretch/strengthen with stability stuff and foam roll etc.

MGocrimson just said it was pain from compression at any point. Just clearing that up, it was wrong

What was your surgery anyway? Microdiscectomy and lami?

I still think your nuts to be risking it with all these exercises loading your spine. Squats and dl are only really necessary for real athletes and internet keyboard warriors.

Yah first surgery was just micro, second was micro plus lami.

I'm actually cleared for full activity etc, but i guess my body just didn't like this stuff. Going to have to focus purely on aesthetics i guess and do lighter weight high rep shit.

I think i really ought to find some cardio ish stuff i like and find a balance for longevity stuff.

I'm already about as strong as i was at my best years before surgery so I don't even know what I'm trying to prove to myself. At this point another injury would spell out a fusion for sure.

What do you dudes think about work environment? I'm interviewing at a lot of places and work environment is one of the biggest deciding factors. I don't really enjoy being crammed into a cubicle and being under bright fluorescent lights all day, some really negative health effects as a result. Some offices are really nice while other seem to be stuck in the 90s call center vibe.

For me that's a biggy. I think the general quality of work is a point. We work in open offices because it's company philosophy of openness and transparency which sucks a bit but we have really comfy quality chairs, good office material (some colleagues got those tables that you can extend so you can work standing for a bit). Then I'm also a sucker for flexible working time, typically I come to the office between 10 and 11am if I have no meetings and then stay till 7 or 8pm. We don't count time so as long as I perform and achieve my tasks I can procrastinate and slack off as much as I want. Last year I managed to work 25h in a week, then 60 in others... which is something I actually appreciate, what's the point of always staying 42h hours a week no matter if you just sit around or actually leave work lying around going home because time's up?

Just home office is banned due to I don't know why... which our department ignores, too. Have no meeting? Put a full day meeting in the calendar, redirect phone to mobile, take laptop home and just don't show up... and don't tell other departments, for the love of god!

cardio just requires grinding at it until you enjoy it. just get cardio up and get aesthetics and fuck slootz at mud runs.

Sure, there are some places but I'm pretty sure the major banks and such are more about merit than nepotism. I'd argue expats send their kids there because it's their home country and they know the language/culture, which is a big factor. It's hard to explain without going in a lot of detail, but I've actually kinda been in that situation myself. I also think the reputation of Herlufsholm has worsened a lot over the years + I doubt any major firm will hire you based on where you went to high school, unless you can argue how it makes you differ from other people. That'd probably more be due to indepedence gained from moving at a young age.

On an exercise-related note my knee sucks. I can't even bench with proper leg drive due to not being able to bend my knee enough.

Maybe this is the push i need to start riding a bit more once the weather gets nicer out!

How do you train differently for aesthetics? Just high rep work?
