A jerk is an overhead press, where you dip down before pressing the bar up using your legs to help driving it up and the dip down again, when getting it back to rack.

Side note: I remember we talked about this earlier that a little cardio before lifting is 'better' than doing it after. Does the same apply for cutting.

There were some references thrown around then, and I forgot to save them. Help plz?

I think @conceptionist had cited a few things.


Basically looking for timing of cardio with paired lifting to increase some fat loss while maintaining strength or trying to. A friend was starting a cut and we were shooting the shit about it and I couldn't remember the recs.

is there a general rule to how much protein to consume at one time? I saw some protein absorption charts and whey, being the easiest to absorb, was at 10g/hour. I usually drink a 2 scoop shake 1-2 hours after lifting. Then eat less than an hour after, the meal probably has 80-100 grams. A lb of seafood or steak has way more than 50g so I don't see how the spreading out makes sense.

I can't really bother to look for that study now, but in short, strength training and cardio send different signals to the body. The results indicated that the signal that is made last is the one that will have the greatest effect.

So if you do cardio after lifting, the anabolic effect is not as great from the lifting as if you would start with cardio and end the training session with lifting. Similarly, if you for some reason could only do cardio after lifting, it would be wise to place the cardio as far away from lifting as possible (preferably another day) or skip it altogether, if you goal is to maximize strength and mass.

Edit: just found three studies that say the opposite; that cardio before is worse.

Aesthetic and natty are 2 separate geometric topologies.

EDIT: we are also missing a key element of aesthetics, not being ugly in general. For example me and conceptionist assuming his face isnt fucked will always be looking aesthetic as long as we have some muscle on our upper bodies and lean because dat 6'3" broad shouldered narrow waisted master race.

I would say waiting 2 hours with the shake is a bit long. There's no need to take immediately, but preferable (from what I've read) you should get around 40g protein within 90 minutes.

For you at 185 lbs the scientific recommendation is between 150-240g. However, some like to go even higher.

OK coming back to this from a sober perspective im literally the worst person to ask this to. I was either tiny 175lb shredded natty or 220 fat, but somehow pretty strong (total around 1000) with all my muscle in my legs and hip flexors. I only use gear to get me to the level where I look like a natty guy who has lifted for a while with really good genetics, but thats just having nice insertions and some muscle and being lean. Like Im the worst person to ask this to. I'd post selfies from when i pulled 455 at 175, but i looked shit.

I think for aesthetics its really just muscle insertions though,have broad capped (ty based tren) shoulders, wide clavicles, upper chest dominant, good ab shape and lats that are visible from the front. Also think it looks better when quad goes over your leg instead of around it.

4 monthly payments of 253.13 GBP when you get paid direct debit.
