It has nothing to do with crossfit, although they probably do have something called a "clean squat" that likely has nothing to do with an actual squat or clean.

Basically, after mastering the goblet squat, you hold the dumbell or kettleball or whatever implement you are using in the rack position. It's a front squat without a barbell, I would just call it a dumbell/kettlebell front squat. I've only ever seen the term "clean squat" used when referencing that particular squat progression/regression model.

A quick search and it's basically this. Except, you know, a real rack position not with your elbows pointing out like a fucking idiot and not with interlocked fingers (lolwut).

ah I see

I would still kinda rate the FS as being more stringent on mobility than BS, but that is me

I think front squats are easier to get depth and stay upright, at least personally, and the mobility issues are different (wrists, elbows, thoracic etc).

If I ever build this home gym I think I will have some kind of easy front squat bar welded up.

Or just a safety bar. The weight position is quite similar to a front squat.

I like how the bodybuilding encyclopedia at the beginning suggests doing essentially powerlifting for 2-6 years to build a base. Aint nobody going to do that shit.

It really sucks how the info you first get when you start lifting can send you off the rails. Think of all those poor SS fucks who were shamed out of the aesthetics they really wanted.

Yea agreed.

Man these uniqlo stretch tapered are pretty great. Makes me look like i have a decent drop and I can do a full split in them. I was looking around for mobility pants and fucked with $200 outlier and even more stone island. But these $30 uniqlos do the job, returning the rest. I hope they don't explode and rip apart in a month
