That's a lot more impressive than losing 35lbs in 8 months.... was that a relatively clean bulk? If so, props to you... pretty hard to pack on that much mass cleanly without some pharmaceutical help.....

It's beyond pretty hard unless the OP is 16 and gifted.... even then.

15 lean + 15 fat is a great and pretty typical ratio.

Haha I am clean, but I've been considering some pharma's for the cut.

I'm very near +40lbs now actually. I'd say it was not a relatively clean bulk. If I had to guess I've probably gone from 8% bf to 12%. I considered myself a pretty hardgainer so I just threw shit to the wind and ate a lot and busted my ass in the gym. Before I started the bulk I was a very competitive trail runner and before that a rower so I knew what hard work was. But I had always restricted my calories. Once I upped the calories the weight slowly piled on... because I was an endurance guy, my legs were small, but pretty strong... since giving my legs heavy weight work instead of cardio they have grown significantly.

To be fair though, I have a frame that can put on 35-40lbs relatively easily without looking much larger at all. Especially when a lot of the weight goes to the legs.

yeah i mean how tall are you? if you're tall and lanky 135 to 170 isn't going to be a huge difference.

Also, found a solution to my DL grip issues, putting a small piece of paper towel between hand and bar took care of the sweat.

It was essentially 157-195 at a little over 6'2".

Tried putting on my bespoke suit pants and they no longer fit. The woes of heavy squatting
post #5019 of 57266
Recently squatting has been giving me these dull headaches. I started doing breathing squats (sets of 20 reps where you can take as long as you want) and it was even worse, sometimes lasting into the next day. Anybody else experience this, and should I be worried? Also, I've been trying to do 5x5 but I find that the ~40 or so minutes it takes isn't enough time to (it seems to me) make really good gains. My upper body is never sore by the next day unless I stay in the gym for at least 1.5 hours. Am I just not lifting big enough?

DOMS isn't a good indication of good training

try evaluating performance by the numbers you gain instead of sore you are the next day

While playing basketball today, I landed on someone's foot. Now my lower back is in spasm.

Hope the other guy's foot has it worse.

This. but also

My triceps are in so much pain from a rep PR OHP. I always feel equally sore in my pecs and tris on bench. Oh well.

He was limping. Initially I thought I was going to roll my ankle, but that didn't happen. Now my lower back hurts like shit.

Damn, sorry about that. Maybe take it easy on the lifting the next couple days.
