She's 5'0" and her cutting calories should be like 1000/day but she refuses to do that because everyone says going under 1200 is "dangerous" which is obviously bullshit because she's fucking tiny. Her stupid personal trainer that I bought her said that too, he actually had her up her calories which I get that she should have more because of what he was having her do but IMO what he's having her focus on is dumb. It's all cardio high rep low weight shit that tires her out. Great, she's improved her cardio conditioning and it helps a little bit with weight loss. TBH she has lost weight too obviously (30lbs aint no joke) but aside from getting back into the swing of things she should be focusing a lot on doing the same things but adding in weight lifting and cutting her calories down further. I think she has like another 20 lbs to lose.

She doesn't listen to me ever though until she's really frustrated about not making progress and then maybe she'll take my advice so we'll see how long it takes for her to come around.

Lol, some people hate going to the gym. After 4 years of doing martial arts, the school got packed. I hate training when the school was packed. So I hung around for another year and even more people signed up. So I bought a heavy bag and quit the gym thinking I can get similar training. After a few months of hitting the bag, I quit...lol I think it's her way of saying she's done with the dieting/exercises but want to let you down slowly...If that makes sense.

It's not my goal. She's like committed to losing the weight, she just sucks at it. She doesn't even have a plan when she goes to the gym so I was basically like, no fucking shit you're unmotivated to go to the gym, because you just have no idea what you're going to do and dick around for a bit without having any real workout or tracking your progress.

Shit, after all these years, I think I've just learned how to bench press the correct way with my shoulders pulled back, elbows tucked it, palms on the rings, and push only with my chest and triceps instead of pushing it with my anterior deltoids...I've noticed the range of motion has been decreased and there's far less pressure on my shoulders. I've been practicing the form with relative light weight sets of 245x3 then dropping to pause bench 225x3. I don't know if any of you guys can understand but I tend to "feel" if I'm benching using the correct techniques rather than seeing it like there are subtle corrections I could have made but they are really really difficult to notice in work out videos.

Over time you should be able to bench a lot more with good PL technique. The difference in bar travel for me with a flat back and shoulders not pulled back versus a proper set up is like 15 inches, haha.

IME, women don't want you to fix their problems, but rather listen to their problems. She'll have to come around on her own. You can be sly about it, and purchase a cool tracking app or something, although in general, I wouldn't broach the topic.
