Naw I got a vacation coming up. I wanna do at least a full week at maintenance before I take the plunge, 2 would be ideal though.

So my pull up and dips station came in. I'm so weak I can't do a single dip :(

Shit happens. You learn and you move on.

Atleast you have a constructive outlet like lifting and baking.

I remember this one time a legit crazy ex came to my house and left me flowers after repeatedly breaking up and making up with me over a day. I walked outside the house with that bouquet of flowers and gave them out to every girl I saw. If it was a couple, I gave it to the dude and was like "how nice of you to get her a rose!".

It was the most satisfying feeling ever.

Dips suck anyway.

My shoulders are so sore right now from dips.

It's usually my chest that feels like it was torn apart the day after a ton of dips

Shoulders, really? foo.gif

I don't really do them that much pitched forward, if I want to get my chest more I do. But I wanted to blast the delts a bit more.

Confused how you can feel your delts in dips regardless of form. If I do them every upright I just feel tris.

Yeah, I mean shoulders are basically secondary to chest/tri on dips.

I feel them primarily in my shoulders. I do them vertically.

Like... upside down?

(I'm kidding, but handstand pushups are def all shoulders)

I don't see where the confusion is. It's a pushing movement, it incorporates a lot of delts, especially if you aren't very chest dominant.

I mean I agree it would be hit less than chest and tri's no matter how you do them, but it seems pretty obvious that you can get sore in the shoulders from dips.

dips are full body starting strength compound lift, you can get 17" biceps by doing them too.. hip drive
post #49724 of 57256
Don't like dips. They bother my shoulders. You can get as good results from other movements.

A close grip decline press should mimic the dips movement, right? Also, it feels like weighted close grip push ups work the same muscles for me.

Hmm, I actually like dips a lot.

I rotate between weighted dips and decline CG's in 6 week blocks as my 3rd movement on push days. I've always had really good results with them.
