That sounds awful. I hope they've improved their design a bit!

Life updates:

Was laid off from job in November, but they hired me back and i'm starting in January. Ended up transferring to a group with more room for growth, got 2 months paid vacation to recover from my surgery and two week PTO payout, which isn't a bad deal. I can't double dip with my severence but tuition reimbursement and generally higher pay will make up for whatever windfall that would've been. Starting Grad School in late January--getting a MS Marketing with a focus on Marketing Research at a CUNY school because it's pretty cheap.

Life's looking good bros.

Market research is the most boring subject i've ever taken. Loads of linear regression without actually doing any linear regression. Maybe an Msc is different, but my class was shit.

I have been barred from taking exams this year, my uni is russled at me. 25% attendance and no homework is apparently too little. Will get the disability office to write to my teachers and say im too special to go to class or something. Tried to explain to my academic advisor that I don't like to study my subjects in a linear way and I tend just to do one subject all at once then go to the next one, but he was having none of it.

Nice deadlift PR today after not deadlifting for about a month and a half. Went 440x10 quite easily so I can probably pull about 550-570ish.

Who Nashbar? I have read good reviews on it. I wanted the Ascent but that shit's out of stock until March. I would like one of the brand name ones, but it seems silly to get a $500 trainer for a $200 (used) bike when I am so out of shape. I just like it because I have its power curve and can get more out of it calorie burning wise than with a mag trainer.

I've been good! What's up brahs. I just got back from two weeks in Hawaii where I did a ton of swimming / hiking / camping / jumping off cliffs / rappelling off mountains and such; real glad I got into fitness because I wouldn't have been able to do 90% of that.

Since July or so I've been doing yoga 3x+ a week with only 1-2 gym days. It's been really nice but I think I lost a bit of upper body strength. I'm actually right at this moment trying to build a 2x gym day/week program that will let me get a bit of that back while still having time for all the other shit I want to do.

Nice bruh. Today is my last day at my Marketing job, did three years there and can't complain. Time to collect some unemployment while searching for what's next. I sort of want to go back and get my MS in Marketing, but first I want to see what's available for me without it and hopefully get into a place that offers tuition reimbursement. Video game industry for marketing is pretty cutthroat but I have some decent leads on jobs.

most importantly my bench has gone up a good amount

Sounds like TBT would be good for you!

Side note: Come hang out with the boston folks. We had a meetup a little bit ago!

deadlift about 600lb and bench around 3 plates would be nice, maybe a 4 plate front squat too and still manage to get cut to shit for the summer.

For 2015, I want at least two of the following three:

  • Squat - 800
  • Bench - 500
  • Deadlift - 700

Also, a 2000 total would be nice.

Stay 'Not injured' even in this state.

Leg feels weird as fak after leg pressing yesterday. Guess it's a no go. Unilateral leg work, here I come!

Get more jocked. Continue learning about PRI principles and applying them to training and recovery.
