I've thought that I have already been pushing the limits in terms of scheduling work and fitting in gym. I even work weekends.
Typical day is office by 10am and leave around 7 to 8pm. The commute depending on traffic is about 30 minutes (5 to 10 minutes if zero traffic). I then have to eat and by that time it is close to 9pm or later. Currently I head to the gym at about 11pm. I'd be lucky if I can get to the gym at 10 and leave around 12 AM.
Question is whether my schedule is sort of whack. I know there are some busy people here so I'd like to hear your thoughts and what you changed in your routine to be more efficient. Am I lagging too much from the time I get home to the time I head to the gym?
FWIW It doesn't matter if I come to work early because my schedule is so packed I end up staying late regardless.
I have played with the idea of going to the gym daily but hitting certain muscle groups and less compound exercises. It will not take a lot of time, really quick in and out, which I can manage if I go daily and just remember to switch up the workout. Otherwise, I do tend to spend about 2 hours, and currently get home around 1 to 2am and don't fall asleep until 3am. My alarm goes off at 6:30am and as I noted I do typical get in the office at 10am (that is only if I do not have meetings in the morning). I ask all this, too, because I feel like I lack a lot of sleep. I am then mentally and physically exhausted most days.
My goal is to be able to continue going to the gym frequently. Alternatively, do I give up 1 to 2 months to settle everything at work and then get back to the gym? I don't want to loose my gains.
I know someone mentioned taking time off for exams. How did that go?
What are you doing in the 3 hours from when you wake up to when you leave...... thats prime gym time right there
Heres my schedule
6:45- wake up, pack my shit
7:15- out the door
8:00- arrive at work
11:00- have a small pre workout meal while I work(usually oatmeal)
11:30-1:00- 3 days a week, work out. My boss is OK with it, I eat at my desk if I don't go out.
1:00-5:00PM- basically graze, big meal is something I cook in bulk on Sunday afternoon
6:00PM- get home, have a small snack and protein shake, done eating for day
7/8:00PM- go do some lower body stuff on certain weekdays or do cardio with wifey
11:30- go to bed
If you cant work out at work.... eat at your desk and either work out in the morning fasted or work out after work. And yea, I would break it up into small chunks and hit stuff more frequently. I train 1-2 times a day and do 2-3 movements a trip on weekdays. Weekends I do much longer workouts.
