I can understand using steroids with all the negatives associated if there is a goal in mind
-winning conpetition
-scoring pussy
-work related (bouncer, security guard)

Thats all I can think of. E-bragging rights over your bench/squat I dont think really cut it.
I suspect that the real reason most use is vanity, just the same as most people lift for that reason, but few will admit it. Its as if people use tracking their lifts to legitimize and de-homo their activities. Some less than others tho (conceptionist, coldsnap)

Would you rather look like lazar angelov but only be able to total 800, or look like fuji but total 1600?

Its also very interesting that steroids have not made the physiques of our two resident users particularly pleasing. I think its because genetics of muscle and tendon length determines aesthetics more than anything else.

I will always have relatively narrow clavicles, adding more mass just makes me look thick from front to back like I have a tumour or something. This makes me sad, but means I dont think I have much to gain from steroids. Im not sure though, perhaps it would help me get a little more shredded but b-agonists might do a similar job

Lol after publicly posting about it I've received PMs from several members here talking about being on dat der. More then 2 of us.Obviously it's genetics to some extent, you're a doctor so you should know having marfans disorder I am never going to put on that much muscle. Before I started lifting I was 120lb at 6'3", I'm happy to no longer have scoliosis or be able to fit my hand around my flexed bicep (16" now feels good man) or no longer be able to fit both hands around my quad.

Really don't mind it, never blocked anyone on here, sf isn't serious business. Had a similar thing happen in real life actually, talking to a personal trainer at the gym. Subject of gear came up, guy was surprised I was on because I don't weigh much for my height, worked up to a 170kg beltless double on high bar squats and did 20 dead hang pull ups. Guy could not tell if real life. Said I looked like I squatted 120-140ish, dat feel.

Don't even need to be like 220 to "score pussy" i've had girls who i've told about it tell me I look not natty and i'm huge. Maybe because I live in England though.

Lol why so much butthurt. I was just reflecting, wasnt a rant at all. The steroid stuff was separate to the aesthetics vs strength just rambling.

What's to agree... I asked Fuji a question. nvm.

Btw has anyone ever used one of those hanging upside down table contraptions for stretching? My unlce has one and says it's great, but I've never had the chance to use one.

As in huh yeah what

So I narrowed my grip for power cleans and now I'm getting slight bruising on my clavicles instead of sternum with the bar resting higher. My elbows still flare out at the top of my jerk with the bar resting. Is this correct? I'm not concerned about bruising or anything, just wondering what it says about my form.

My mom had one and she used to it stretch her back. She has a compressed disk and it helps her to reduce pain.

23 today.

Is it weird that I feel old? But at the same time I'm in such a limbo, I hardly FEEL like an adult, but I like to think I act like one. I also pretty much live an adult life style, work like a mother fucker for future goals without much downtime...

Whatever. Maybe it's the percosets making me all contemplative haha.
