had a berry/bananaa/protein shake for lunch and that's it for the calories i've consumed for the day so far (450)

I'm not hitting a mid-afternoon energy lull either. cool.gif

Poison Ivy's revenge on Batman is the Floral Pattern trend.

Ripped my shorts in half at the bottom of the squat today. That 3 second down count is a lot of stress on the seams I guess.

So meet is 18 weeks out. Going to do 6 more weeks of 5x week bodybuilding volume, still PL focused because I have no machiens or pulleys at my gym so I'm pretty limited on what I can do for the bodybuilding movements. Then I do 12 weeks of Ed Coans peak routine. I even get to gain 10lbs.

Do you have dumbbells? You can do pretty much anything in a BB routine with dumbbells, no?

protip: those weightlifters that actually have great physiques do a fuckton of (mostly) bodybuilding stuff. compare current bulgarians to chinese lifters and the difference is vast, and it is due to a very different training system (among other things). you can take a look at Taner Sağır who is a comparable lifter to Lu (172 vs 177 + 202 vs 204) and they look nothing alike. also aramnau looks like a rapist truck driver but is (or was) a premiere lifter.

i don't really see the beef here, but from all the sports in question I think bodybuilding is probably the one where real success requires the 'most' optimal genetics (in a matter of speaking). mainly because in strength sports there's often ways to push up your total but since BB is pure appearance if your muscle insertions or whatever the fuck are unaesthetic there's very little you can do.

Switched from high bar to low bar squats last week...WTF didn't I do this a long time ago heh.

Also, DOMS in the quads has never gone away in less than 5 days, preventing me from squatting as much as I want to. Got a foam roller, after about 5 painful minutes on it, DOMS completely gone today. Foam rollers rock.

It's all done. It went great. Started Febish ended Mayish. Went from 200lbs to 173lbs, 38" waist to 34" waist. Squat went up like 42lbs, Deadlift went up 59lbs, Bench 35lbs. I had Greg doing my programming at that time and Knucks doing the diet so everything was in order. I'm still 174lbs, not crazy lean really but there's a good drop from my shoulders to waist now. Best part is not having a fat face. So I'll lift at my meet180-181lbs.

Yea, I have dumbells. True, I can. There's just a lot more you can do when you have access to cables, but I know some giant bodybuilders that do none of that machine stuff.

Genetics. My upperbody is shaped like a Barrel, very short and squished.

Ah yes genetics. I used to believe in those, too.

Well, the thing is that drilling technique can increase weight moved without really increasing your aesthetics. I'm thinking oly lifters here. They tend to look pretty good for the mostpart.

Honestly, I don't really care about the distinction. People have different goals.

yup. you can do pretty much everything with dbs that you can do with cables, but you might need to find a bench and use inclines etc to be able to do it more easily.

Jeebus. I'm like 30-32 waist and I'm like 165. Definitely at a higher bf than usual for this time of year as well. bleh.

Jacket size is a little over a 40R.

Well I wear size 33 pants. I can see myself eventually being a true 33 after another year of training or so.

I can't fit my legs into pants that are my 'true' size unless I wear grandpa style pants. :/

Yea, I have to buy repro cut pants and size up to 34 if I want to be comfortable in the thigh and even calf area.
