Alright gents, I feel so inspired to focus my work outs on deads and squats! It's like I've discovered a new hang out spot with its neat culture! I just had a conversation with one of my neighbor's kid about power lifting. We both agreed having a big chest and big upper body is meanly for show. The real power comes from a strong back and powerful legs. I'm gonna revamp my routine to focus more on lower body and less on upper body. Cheers! Thanks to @ridethecliche for inviting me to the conversation and led me to my epiphany!
Everything works differently for everyone but for me 3 sets of 3 reps plus maybe 2 heavy singles at 90%-95% is more than enough.
For me volume works for squats and bench and high intensity works best for DLs.
Wait, only 3 sets?! Does that include warm up? So, on the last set, you pretty much maxes out? I'm still experimenting with my regiment. I was doing the high intensity, high volume (high sets, low reps). I figure I'll change it up for that "muscle confusion" if such things exists.
I'm thinking this is for benching? What's your squats and dead lift routine like?
