Random health and exercise thoughts - Page 2956

Pretty sure everyone in this new gym already hates me. Was getting some serious eye daggers when I was doing barbell curls and concentration curls in those big crossfit cadges thing. I wana be like lay the fuck off, I've earned my right to do this, go back to snatching what I did at 135lbs.

I saw an obese guy today wearing nike romeleos overhead pressing 40kg. I took pics, but rhet doesn't like that. I'm getting bigger, leaner and vascular as fuck, but I think weaker? What is going on rhet? I'm cutting, but I should still be getting stronger.

Sometimes I feel bad about studying finance and not something more prestigious. There is an entire chapter on calculating the beta of a stock. It's just the fucking covariance over the variance, why is there so much detail?

use a wider grip, stretch wrists before you get to work sets

Just moved to Chicago for the summer... think I'm stuck with the UIC gym as the only other gym nearby is an LA Fitness. Commute is way longer than I'm used to, as is the hours. This should be an interesting summer.

There's Cardinal Fitness on Madison St. near the U.C. or if you're looking for a powerlifting gym then try Lance's Gym in Bridgeport...

Thanks, Cardinal Fitness is sorta near my work. Might stop by there tomorrow and see what they do in terms of temporary plans (and how their equipment is).

whatever you study wont matter, certainly not calculating betas of an equity.

literally only thing you should practice is becoming a robot at formatting powerpoint presentations for IBD.  when does your summer analyst role start?

How come bodybuilding programs don't need to follow the rule if progressive overload? In that week after week its not about eeking small increase in weight you can, but mostly about volume accumulation and slight increase in weight lifted. Does overall volume really out beat progressive overload and growth response?

Huh? You just said there is slight increase in weight lifted.

Progressive overload pertains to both volume and resistance.

Posted the widely used and accepted study (god damn teekay) about that a few days ago. Muscles get larger in three ways, the cell walls thicken to handle pressure, I may be mistaken but I believe the mitochondria grow and then the cell expands to hold more fluid. You can also play with hyperplasia but that just means you got the cancer and you are gonna die so put me in your will.
