sweet 180lbs.. up from 174lbs two days ago. Fuck being sick. Hopefully I can kick this in two days and get back down to 175lbs asap.

..renting sort of sucks. I'm so pissed they tore my kitchen floor up and left a ton of mold exposed then told me they can't relocate me until a week later. Just gotta hold out another month, good friend is moving up here and buying a giant house with his gal. He's moving up with a ton of Rogue gear too and were going to have a sweet garage gym. There's also a lake so I'm buying a rowboat and just going to chill drinking ice tea and tanning all day.

I've heard great things about dc. My cousin loves it there. I need to visit him.

And lol @ Boston wishing it was nyc...

I spend a lot of time in DC for work, and used to party there when I needed to get away from Blacksburg. I like it a lot.

What do you guys do for shoulder stability work, i.e. to ward off impingement etc?

I think I pissed my shoulders off by doing cable flyes. I usually do DB work since the straight bar has always annoyed my shoulders. I've been taking ibuprofen for a couple of days, but want to be proactive to strengthen up the RC again.

Thanks!

Don't know about the technical and medical terms like impingement and such, but I always do some face pulls, band pull aparts, shoulder ext and int rotations, overhead shrugs, scapular retractions, pulldowns, etc with bands as part of prehab at the start of the session.

It only takes like 5 minutes and my shoulders have never bothered me as a result.

That feel when fit into size 32 APC New Standards. I store a ton of fat in my legs I guess because my squat has never been this strong. I'm looking forward to getting back to filling out my sugar cane 1947s at least .

Yea my AC joint got super cranky when I started all that bodybuilding stuff. Need to slowly strengthen front delts and upper chest without destroying my shoulder health.

PR'd today: 1rm @405lbs DL. Not pretty, but got straight up and didn't hurt myself.

Ah, i'd be interested in your prehab routine. Do you do it pre or post your chest/shoulder session or on the other days?

I work my upper every time I train, 4 times a week and I do the same prehab and warmup at the start every session. Takes like 15 min total. Some weeks I throw in some GPP work like light cardio, barbell complexes or whatever I feel like doing and then I also do the prehab at the start.

Static stretching with bands for quads, hip flexors, adductors, pecs and delts at the end of every session, if I have time.

I basically got the prehab/warmup routine from Matt Ogus video. Just search something like "ultimate warm up" by "flexforall" on youtube and you should find it.

Guy I know herniated a disc deadlifting. I saw him today with a back brace and a cane. This is why I didn't work out without insurance. (That, and I was a little lazy.)

I didn't have surgery for mine after it got real bad for over a year. Then I had to have surgery again because it didn't take. It fucking sucks.

Back shit like that is the absolute worst.

I feel bad for the guy. He's barely old enough to buy booze and he's hobbling around with a cane like an old man. I've never seen him deadlift, so I don't know whether it was a form issue or he just got unlucky.

With the shitty insurance I could afford it just made more sense to save that $200 a month. I got an MRI last year or so and it costed me about $400 for the visit that's with insurance. Meanwhile my friend needed an MRI and got in and out negotiating $120 cash.
