Random health and exercise thoughts - Page 2797

I meant to say after I posted that, I think my friend is getting fake drugs. Me and him started lifting around the same time, he hired some expensive coach in LA who would also administer his drugs. I didn't see him for a year and met up with him recently and It seemed like I put on more muscle over the year. Maybe he just has shit genetics.

Or he could be doing it half assed. Lots of factors especially within a whole year.

Whelp, I can SBS comfortably. Dan suggested running Brolov Jr. until the cast comes off. I might make it, brahs.

just use a cross grip. Who cares about using a clean grip, you're not an oly lifter.

When you are getting up in weight that clean grip is handy.

I suppose it is more stable, bar slips around a bit on cross grip. If Im doing high reps I usually switch from clean to cross grip halfway through because it gets uncomfortable.

CTK you could use straps and just hold onto those. Would let you do clean grip without needing the mobility.

Going to start posting on here after a few pm's with conceptionist.

I'm rehabbing from 2x back surgeries and trying to figure out how to best tailor a 3-4x a week routine for myself to put on some muscle again without compromising my health.

Pre-op, some of my lifts were:

Deads: 315, FS: 205, OHP: 135, DB rows with 120's, DB press: 85ish? Yada yada yada.

Not remarkable, by any means, but not bad for someone weighing like 165ish lbs.

I ended up here after reading conceptionist's post talking about pre-loading the core prior to workouts. That's interesting for me since it would force me to reduce weights used in lifts and build much more core strength which is important now.

My biggest concern is not being able to add leg mass since I'm not sure I can squat or deadlift. Not sure it's worth the risk to try it till I have a much more solid foundation.

Right now, leg workouts include BB Lunges, DB Step ups, some single leg leg press machines, and calf raises. Hoping to pick up some more variety into things. Anyone have any exercise suggestions?

Hack squats? Normal leg press?

I tried straps and it still didn't feel quite right. Where is the bar supposed to rest?
