optimal physique is one that looks totally regular with normal clothes on yet one that you can snatch and clean absolutely huge fucking weights with. I'd take taner sagirs body if I could hit even 75% of his numbers anyday. besides I hate being lumped in as some asshole bodybuilder

theres a young weightlifter named ian wilson who looks somewhat normal for being incredibly strong. probably because he's 6'2" and kind of lanky.

For those who think SS is minimalistic, check out Dr. Squats 80 day powerlifting program.

http://drsquat.com/content/knowledge-base/conditioning-tips-powerlifters

Now, this is a peaking program for beginner powerlifters (absolutely not meant for aesthetics) but its still interesting to see how minimalistic it is.

It seems like it averages to slightly less than 3 sessions a week.

The only lifts written in the program are squat, bench and deadlift.

You do squats and bench on one day, only deadlift on another, and then bench and squat on the third. The last week leading up to the meet you do all the lifts every session.

I think it assumes you also do some overhead press, rows, abs and hypers/good mornings regularly. You could prob also add chins and tricep and bicep work.
