Only one of those events lasts one minute and if you were training max dead lift for time would you be training your 1rm or 80% of your 1rm for as many reps as possible? Also how is 7 reps considered a low rep event?

I still wouldn't say event day is high rep it all. It's more max effort for reps. The strongman I train/trained with who are nationally ranked mostly train like powerlifters in that they are doing some sort of linear progression on the squats, deadlift, overhead press then have their 4th day as an event day. They probably look more jocked than powerlifters because of the extra conditioning, not because they do a bodybuilding split.

I was going to do a strongman event, but then I dropped out. Which makes me an expert in everything strongman hah.

All of this shit is so off topic. All I am saying is that for aesthetic purposes a bodybuilding split is more effective than powerlifting training. I don't see how you could even try to argue the opposite viewpoint based on 50 years of modern bodybuilding showing great results, how power lifters look and how any example of a power lifter who has an aesthetic body incorporates bodybuilding style training from dan green to Matt Kroc.

I'm not saying I disagree, but interesting notion.

No one argues with the scientists or the people who perform the studies but many people are against the people who promote their ideas and results. The idea that you have to be huge or experienced to be credible source of advice is a bit troublesome to me, as many of the researchers that strength trainees get their info from are the definition of DYEL. I agree on that experience is not substitutable and can cover factors that science never can explain. Since I don't have much experience yet I try to listen to other people's research and experiences. As long as a big amount of knowledge doesn't interfere with your training by confusion, I don't see a problem with educating yourself. I just outsourced my programming for that reason.

Agreed. I think 5/3/1 for bodybuilding is the bees knees. I don't know how bodybuilding splits work though so maybe it isn't, but you can still progress in the main lifts then just get jocked right after.

You could but you are putting a powerlifters mindset in place of a bodybuilders. If hack squats grow my quads faster than a back squat why does my back squat number matter? If incline db press grows my pecs faster than flat barbell bench why would I care what my max bench number is?

My friend dan is a great example of this. He literally never squatted, deadlifted or benched other than close grip and this is hws he looked like at 20.

inb4 someone says his chest is weak, he should benched

no man but dan green said something so it has to be true. tesseract you have to squat 3 times a week if you want a big upper body because you want to maintain a linear progression for as long as possible.

But does he have a base though?
He was such a great example of mind muscle connection and hypertrophy. All he did for legs was leg extensions, ham curls and leg presses with very slow eccentrics and he had tree trunk legs.

Is he dead now or something?
