What kind of snacks are you dudes eating throughout the day? I try to eat every two hours and eat clean for the most part on week days. I've been on a Nutella spread on Ezekiel bread and a handful of almonds as a quick and easy snack for a couple of months now. It's getting kinda boring. Thinking about switching up so would like some input. Other snacks include fruits, veggies and brown rice cake.

TBH, don't snack much. I eat around noon, and then around 6-7pm and that's it.

That's too much for me, man. Lol. I would starve to death.

6am: bowl of oatmeal with fruits sprinkled on.
8:30am: 2 brown rice cakes and banana
10am: Nutella and sprouted bread with handful of almonds.

2pm: low fat string cheese and carrots.
4pm: another bread sandwich with Nutella.
Gym after work.

Not a joke. Questbars are one of those protein dense health bars. Good snack but I guess theyre expensive too.

 

Meal frequency and hunger just has to do with what you're used to. Change your meal frequency and it only takes 3 days or so to adjust. I've tried 2, 3, 4 and 5 meals a day and yes, you might be a bit hungry or very full the first days but that doesn't hurt you.

 

If you're trying to lose weight it could be very smart to reduce the times on the day you eat carbs. You could save all your carbs for dinner or just eat them around workouts. A lot of people do fine with saving all their carbs to dinner and a healthy desert every day which should have them burn more fat during the day. If you do this, just make sure you actually eat some good fat sources i those earlier meals and not only protein.

 

Also, you absolutely need to track you calories and macronutrients if you don't already. Use an online calculator to find your need and use myfitnesspal and a food scale for tracking your intake.

Fucking yum chocolate chip cookie dough is insane. My next door neighbor ate a whole box of the cookies and cream ones and had "stomach problems" aka she couldn't shit for a week.

Cookies and Cream Quest bars are among my favorites. Also love the Double Chocolate Chunk. I eat 2-3 Quest bars a day in between meals, and it's often what I have for lunch.

Weighed in at 192 this AM. This puts me at between 12-14lbs more to go 8 weeks out from comp. I really, really like where I stand right now.

Interesting. I'll look into the bars. Generally, I don't like any nutritional bars since most I've seen have high amounts of sugar.

I actually prefer my eating habit over just meals. I'm just sustaining and eating a bit more cleanly than before with adjusting the snacks.

I'm 5'10" at 160 lbs. I can't fathom going lower. I'm already a skinny dude. Back in 2009 or so, I dropped from 220 lbs to 140 lbs in about 1.5 years just by eating according to my BMR and cutting out soda and alcohol and picking up Muay Thai. I just wanted to get back to my high school weight of around 180 lbs but I got addicted to the change. I was never able to crank out 50 push ups nonstop, do pull ups or run a mile in 7 mins or so. I've bulked up to 160 since then. Now, if I only have time to go back to doing Muay Thai frown.gif I still hit the gym 5-6 times a week though. I consider it a lifestyle change. I'm also looking into carb cycle. Consume lower carb on off day and higher amounts on gym days.

Pic of before and after for those who are curious. The after at this point was probably 155 lbs or so.

Alright, sounds good. 

I don't eat any bars but they could be a good snack if you don't mind the price and make sure they have good nutrition values.

 

You def shouldn't cut now, I just thought you were trying to lose weight since most people who come to this thread looking for advice have that goal.

Very nice job on that transformation btw. If you have the determination to pull that off you will prob be able to reach your long term fitness goals.

I try to get my sugar from fruits and veggies.

Yeah, man. I've been traveling for work for the last 3 days and the eats are not too healthy on the road. I've been feeling disgusted with myself for it for eating out so much. I try to do that twice a week for cheat meals. The exercise room is lacking for sure but I've been hitting it daily and brought my own jump rope to work in circuits since I don't have free weights at the moment.

Thanks for your compliment. Either way I need to maintain...spent too much on clothes to get fat now. Haha.

Shifting this thread back to employment for a moment, would like any and all opinions.

Got my first "real" job out of school at the beginning of the year.

Technically, I interviewed on December 13th, and started working two weeks later, after background checks and other miscellaneous bullshit.

I'm extremely grateful for the job, considering my english degree, and considering the fact that i'm in NY and jobs for new grads, especially with liberal arts degres, are relegated mostly to retail and food service.

In any case, while it might not be all that glamorous, or what I want to be doing, I feel lucky, and the job is pretty decent too.

When they hired me, they informed me it would be 3 months of training with hourly pay, and after 3 months they are going to offer me a promotion, and salary.

Monday will be 3 months on the dot pretty much, now should I go and speak with my boss about the pay rise? The promotion is already on the cards, that I know because the person I am replacing is leaving, and it's been talked about in the office i'm stepping into his role.

To be honest I don't care about job title, promotions, etc, I just want the higher pay. Should I assume they are going to automatically start paying me more beginning pay period monday, or should I go and explicitly speak with them?

I was thinking of waiting for the next paycheck, and if nothing has changed, then going to speak with them.

Thoughts?
