Tbh, I don't lift for aesthetics at all anymore. I only chose lifts based on how they increase my overall performance. I've also realized that I have a ton of weight to gain (like at least 40 pounds) if I ever want to put up some decent numbers. Looking at those pics it's also obvious that I have to put on mass to look more filled out. I'm still skinny.

That said, I will never bulk up to fatty status. It'll just have to take a couple of years.

Sorta wish I took before and after shots when I decided to cut. I just measured my waist and it's 2-3" smaller, not tracking anything but a pair of custom made jeans I have fit me now and a few months ago I couldn't even get my thigh through. I'm at my strongest right now / maybe last week, which is interesting.

steroid-free bodybuilding is basically pointless, but fitness and strength training isn't.

The weight lifting class is basically me lifting as hard as I can for an hour with no instruction and then a stretch/core workout with the rest of the class for the last 10 mins or so.

Cardio has been in the form of sprints, stairs, and box jumps (max effort up the stairs). Maybe I created the perfect storm for improvement? I dunno, but my lifts have all gone up significantly. No new PRs, but sets of reps that were once grinders and super struggles for me are now much, much, much easier.

jumps (both kinds) are pretty awesome for those 2b fibers. during the summer a lot of very decent weightlifters I train with would do track & field stuff on their off days. and also lift hard as shit.

Seriously though, I wish I was half as knowledgeable and realistic about lifting/strength training, bodybuilding as conceptionist is at his age......for me at 20ish it was all 'Hey I maxed the leg press, I'm jacked as fuck!'

My powerlifting buddy linked this on facebook; cool view of Malanichevs' squat with Gandalf Green PWO!

Hi guys, would be great with some input on how to fix my DL.

Im attaching a video with two reps at 135 kg/around 300 lb at the end of my work out. Had earlier done 1*5 and 1*3 at the same weight. Its not that much for me, and doesn't really feel heavy. However, I felt something was off, with some grinding lower back feelings, and decided to record the last two.

Ive pretty muched stalled on DL, mainly because I am afraid I will hurt my back. I am tall (193/6´4) and have some issues with setting up the angles. For example, I would like to have my shoulders further back, but that results in lower hips and yadayada...

So, what am I doing wrong? I see some lower back rounding, but unsure why. Am I trying to pull by raising my back, or whats happening.

(dont know how to embed tinypic links...)

I think you would benefit from bending your knees a bit more, and pushing your ass a bit more down. Lower hips would actually not be a bad thing, at the moment it looks like your lift is all lower back, which would explain why it feels slightly uncomfortable.

I kind of had similar issues with my DL, but you might want to wait until someone more knowledgable chimes in.

For those who take ZMA, how important is it to take on an empty stomach before bed? I lift late afternoon and get the majority of my calories at dinner and after.
