When my cutting stalled I just pigged out for a day or two. If it still didn't work I'd cut my cals down more.

Anyway, story of the day. My GF plays a niche/club type sport, and the club brought in a trainer to design a workout program. The PT's solution... more core strength! So now she's doing 10 minute abs plank type stuff, and she tells me she needs to get 5-lb dumbbells because her 2-lb dumbbells are too light. This one is just... not worth fighting. He's a CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER ferchrissake.

I have been bad about refeeding. I am going to do one today.

How lean are you? If you're stalled and above 8% you're doing it wrong.

I wonder if I can hit 30+ with 225 fresh now?

Best I've done is 20x225 but that's after 2x5 heavy paused, 2x5 heavy paused crazy band bench, and 5x3 speed bench.

It's probably not a real stall. This has happened a few times before, where I seem to stall, then lose 2-3 lbs. overnight. I just have to ignore the scale, especially if I refeed today.

Oh yeah? Well I bet your Rear Double Bicep is off and you probably have a sub-par Front Lat Spread.

Was in NYC over the weekend, saw many sets of twig legs in skinny jeans.

Noted.

And yeah, the couch stretch hurts a lot and is really tough when you start doing it. I've shown it to some friends and they nearly cried and gave up about a minute in. Just remember to keep the front legs shin vertical, neutral spine and squeeze your glutes hard to keep the spine in that position. My top tip for doing boring static mobility work like the couch stretch, bottom squat sits or external hip mobility flossing, is to distract yourself. I can easily 10+ minutes in a position if I'm reading a magazine or watching a series or whatever, whereas I would stop about 2-3 minutes in otherwise due to pain and it being boring.

Elbows in the squat: I think Rippetoe is one of the only coaches that advocate the elbows pointing back thing, and as you know his way of teaching the squat leaves is not the best.
Elbows back can make you lean forward and round your upper back. Elbows under and driving forward when you come up of the hole prevents that.

I'll keep the elbows thing in mind next squat day, I could see it fixing a couple of things and giving me more power from the bottom.

Werent you gonna be in NY some point this month? Let's lift brah
post #37739 of 57260

Conceptionist do you (or anyone) have a source for that elbows thing? That isn't like a T-nation article?  Not saying Rippetoe is the be-all end-all of form advice but the book's popular for a reason.

My gym is so crowded lately, I find myself having to skip lifts especially if it's Monday.  Frustrating :( not looking forward to January one bit.  They also replaced the nice open space we had for deadlifts/rows with this giant fucking fake grass abomination...

Was thinking about going to NYC Jan like 17th or something. I'm in Philly for my final test in medical school(woot) on the 14th and was thinking of heading to NYC right after. Only would go if RHETers feel like broing out.
