Just tried 1RM's after finishing my smolov jr cycle last monday.
Added about 10-15 kg to my (weak) HB squat which is now nearly the same weight as my LB SQ was when I made the switch to HB last summer.
A lot of improvement on the bench as well though its hard to say how much as I was recovering from a shoulder injury during the cycle. Had hardly benched at all the month before I started the cycle tbh. Bench now a little stronger than it was pre-injury, so thats good.
Also lifted a DL PR (+5kg) even though I kinda neglected the DL during smolov cycle. http://youtu.be/9jzqDBLDRms
I'm a happy man now and am currently stuffing my face with al teh bad foodz smile.gif

Please post. I need some of my high school flexibility back for goaltending.

Sometimes I want to reach through the screen and punch people. Someone just gave advice to cut to 6-9% before trying to gain strength because "Its way easier to build muscle and become more athletic when you have a low body fat."

What's wrong with that

Sounds like fat shaming to me. Way to take a stand.

Good job! Why no belt on 1 rep max?

We were discussing untrained people, who would probably look something like this if they cut to 6% without trying to get stronger:

(I'm not saying someone untrained and fat should try to bulk/gain mass, just try to gain strength/recomp, which would preserve LBM)

That dude in the spoiler is gonna die. Also I don't think he is 6%

6% is like stage worthy with muscle. Without it, it's decomposing.

you should look alright (not great) at 9% with n00b gain muscle. cut if its gonna be summer because i'd rather be skinny and "toned" (lol) if its warm out not chubbybuilt. On the flipside chubbybuilt is much better in the winter.

I think there's some shit about insulin sensitivity and also being able to control your diet and shit if you cut first. idk if that's broscience or not but still. also most people don't want to get fat and then skinny.
