Eat lunch at 1. Eat dinner after you lift.

Strong everything.

Depending on how serious it is.. but I say do it. It's your first meet. Shouldn't be worried about weight classes or anything like that. Just go in and focus on going 9/9 and learning all the rules, and getting a feel for everything. Most importantly, have fun.

I'm really tempted to suck it up and do it. It would remove my temptation to have the perfect lead-up to the meet and just go lift without worrying about weight classes or hitting certain weights, etc.

What say you RHET?

I wouldn't. You said part of your hand is atrophying, thats some serious shit and I'd be freaking out. I'd fix myself first. And maybe you will have time then to jump into the meet quickly. At least I guess you could sign up and pay your USAPL dues.

Oh wait SHIT forgot you had that nerve injury.

Don't do it go see a doctor brah

Srsly, I'd at least mark neck injury off the possibility before I started tapering for a meet.

Fast all day
6pm: Protein + dextrose ---> gym
Then a big meal as soon I finish

Works really well, the sugar rush after fasting all day gives lots of energy for workout
Then very satisfying to have a big dinner

You don't find it difficult fasting from 9pm to ~ 1pm. What's your dextrose source, candy?

This could work

Sample setup

12-1 PM or around lunch/noon: Pre-workout meal. Approximately 20-25% of daily total calorie intake.
3-4 PM: Training should happen a few hours after the pre-workout meal.
4-5 PM: Post-workout meal (largest meal).
8-9 PM: Last meal before the fast.

ugh, so conflicted. while i'm not sure how coldsnap gets "neck injury" from "half of my palm gets tingly only when i bench press," i am kind of worried about the long-term implications.

i suppose i could still just register for the meet, only worry about rehabbing myself for the next few weeks and suck ass completely.... i just dont have any idea of a timeline when it comes to this stuff. off to the doctor tomorrow i suppose frown.gif.

All those nerves in your hand start in your neck.
yeah a neck injury isn't the weirdest guess for random extremity nerve pain.
Medium nerve runs from your thumb, through your carpal tunnel, and is rooted in your neck. It's all related; thumb atrophy, elbow pain, etc.
