I'm never stuffing myself with nachos and fajitas before lifting again. Hit my weight targets but was re-swallowing food the whole time redface.gif

btw fuji and charly, do you guys know the heel height of you shoes?

0.6-0.75" sounds ideal for what I've read.

I have no clue. It's either 0.5" or 0.75".

Nachos and fajitas are rewards for after you lift. You've got to earn them.

0.75, took some getting used to. The first time I squatted in them my squat went down.

Decided to do plate raises holding two 25s instead of a single 45. Completely changed the movement. Feels so much better now.

^ Hmmm how'd it change? I've been using a 45 so I'm curious

@Jarude - Good stuff man

It brings your hands in -- as a result felt it more in my chest and shoulders and less in my biceps. Also worked my grip better since I was holding onto two plates.

Next step is 5 10s.

176 down from 190. Stalled a bit this week. Still hitting calorie targets, but macros were off, haven't lifted, and cut back on liss. Hopefully will regain momentum this weekend and into the coming weeks. I probably have 6 weeks left, but will be visiting home soon which will realistically add 2-3 weeks.

Think I finally found my squat groove. Focused on keeping the weight over my center of balance last squat day. Easily knocked out a weight I had missed for the past three weeks or so.

Looking back, I think I was squatting with the weight so far in front of my center of balance that I was essentially doing a goodmorning/calf press combination out of the hole. You live and you learn.

Incline walking on treadmill.

Was doing HIIT too (followed by shorter liss session) but groin pull made it painful to run so thats on pause. Will resume shortly. Cardio totals 40min. 4x/week.

Anyone know of any gym bags with two ventilated tunnels for two pairs of shoes?

Kinda hard to tell the bar path from that angle, but it looks like you manage to avoid leaning forward when it gets though. Thats one of my problems at least.
You're going well below parallell too. If you cut the ROM a bit higher, maybe you could get that 400.

Those are the Power Lift 1's, right? How do you like them?
Do you like a heel even for low bar squatting? There seems to be very conflicting views on this. Your stance is narrower than mine though, so it would probably feel different for me.

Charly and Fuji: iirc, you guys are using squat shoes with wide stance? what shoes are you using and how do you like a heel in comparison to flat shoes like chucks?

i have a hard time gauging parallel since i was an ATG guy for the longest time. i feel like 400 is comparatively "lightweight" to where i want to be in the future so i don't want to start cutting ROM for the sake of hitting something now. that might be poor logic, but i'd rather err on the side of caution depthwise at this point. its exposed a weakness in my squat right now anyways.

the powerlift 1's are okay. i probably wouldn't buy them again, but they do the job. i have knucks' old do-wins (0) that i squat in my garage with and i wear the powerlifts to globogyms because they are new and shiny. i prefer the do-wins, though that could be because they are snug as all hell whereas my powerlifts are .5 size too big. i *think* the do-wins are .75 and the powerlifts are .5" but i sincerely doubt .25 of an inch makes a huge difference in my squat. either way, i really like shoes for lb squats - like everyone else has said, it really helps me get depth and helps with sitting back.
