8 minutes seem awfully brief. Typically "they" say you want at least 20 minutes of elevated heart rate to begin being effective, no?

Fuck doing 20 minutes of HIIT. If your doing it really intense like the tabata protocol 8 mins is more then enough. Don't know if anyone could really maintain that for 20 minutes.

Never heard of tabata, off to google I go!

I'm going to be traveling a lot with my new job. What is the best national chain to join? 24 fitness seems like a pretty good deal for only 35 bucks a month for their basic package.

looked pretty good. the more flexible you become, the more you'll be able to arch your back to lessen the bar's travel.

I started out with my arch like yours and now gotten it to the point where my training partner can slide one arm through my arch without touching me

24 hour fitness works pretty well for me, although I don't have the multi-site membership. The gym is pretty nice. My only peeve (relatively major one) is that they have the octagonal plates - makes doing DLs a bitch.

How do you feel about the calls for injury given the arch and the head motion?
as long as you're keeping tight and not extending your back over your flexibilty, I don't see a problem. as for the head motion, I don't like it because it won't pass at PL meets. but beyond that, I don't see too much of a problem. I prefer my head back and driving into the bench though.

got 100 dumbbells up by my self for shoulder press today. one feat achieved.

strong shoulders are strong

I can't push much because of hurt left wrist and right elbow, but I try.

I can't get the weight started on db seated shoulder presses by myself because of a forever fubared right elbow and shoulder.

I usually do front first, then behind the neck press next. My goal is be able to press 330 behind teh neck. right now at 235 on a barbell.
330 would be insane. I can't press anything behind my neck as it hurts my right shoulder too much. I'm actually moving my hands out on the bar for squats starting this week because my close-grip on squats ain't helping the situation.

injuries. biggest downside of lifting.
