I think the worst part behind mental illness is the stigma.

If you have a problem with your kidneys, no one bats an eye.
If you have some sort of gastrointestinal pathology, no one looks down upon you.

But for some reason the brain is treated entirely different. It has pathologies and imbalances just like any other organ of the body. The people who say "just try being happier" to those suffering from MDD have no idea wtf they are talking about.

Yeah, this really bothers me as well, and I hate it. It's so ignorant. I pretty much don't speak to my cousin, and the person I considered my best friend since I was a child because apparently i'm a pussy, and weak, and that all of this is in my head.

Because, you know, it's entirely my choice to feel like shit and not feel motivated to do anything when desperately all I want is to be functional.

You Americans are so racist.

Anyway, good luck Mark, wish you the best. Keep them gains.

I totally agree with TKJTG, those people are just sheltered and their opinions are based on stupidity. None of them really know unless they have either loved or lived with someone with depression. It seems like this subject is sort of the next hot button issue next to gay marriage. Where there are just some sticks in the mud that will eventually get washed over by the vast majority of clear headed people. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I broke and had ice cream today.. granted it was from grassfed cows but still. Yesterday I did competition deadlifts, block pulls, deficit deads, GHR, reverse hypers, lat pulldowns, single arm farmer walks, farmer holds, and fat grip curlz. Don't know what I was thinking, so sore I can't even foam roll.

Fuck finally took a proper week off from the gym to rest. Heavy benching is killing my body... well that and everything else. But I have an urge to keep on going to the gym though damnit.

Not gonna be as aesthetic as I normally am for the holiday crew checking in

Drop your fats and eat more carbs on workout days then.

Plain boiled potatoes are extremely filling as a post workout carb, much more so than rice, bread, beans or any other carb.

On rest days just drop the starchy carbs and eat more green veggies. 1 pound of broccoli is like 15g of carbs and will make anyone full if you eat it with a decent amount of protein.
