What do?

Get a girl that isn't shitty at massages, duh

I'd like to say I adjusted pretty fast, but its only been about a week and a half. I'm expecting some initial PRs these first few weeks and then a few weeks of stagnation as I build up the volume on back-off sets. I'm going to try and stay conservative with that since I don't want to do too much at once with this level of frequency. Right now I'm just trying to feel out a rough structure and condition myself for the workload that it'll entail.

Today's squats were low bar. Instead of a daily max that I won't go past, I'm starting to think in terms of a daily minimum where I can hit a no-brainer single and everything past that will be gravy. 275 is very easy and it feels like 315 will be the daily minimum soon enough.

225x16 wasn't too bad, hehe. My legs had more in the tank; it was my back and core that got a little wobbly.

White trash music is a superb choice, Korn, NIN, etc.

I've had a really good looking girl massaging me when I stayed at a nice beach resort hotel while on vacation. It was very enjoyable when she did my back, but not so much when I had to turn over. Having her work on the upper and inner quads was just torture... haha

Hmmm... Sounds promising. Just have to get a bit stronger first.

What are you doing with your other lifts in terms of programming? Have you upped your pressing and pulling frequency as much as the squatting?

I'd reckon I'd do fine DLing heavy and light once each, lat work 3-4 times and upper back 5+ a week, but 'm not so sure about pressing. Bench and OHP could maybe work 3x but it could also lead to shoulder issues.

There's actually a similar very high frequency template for 5/3/1 called "More Squatting". Wendler hasn't tried it himself, but people online seems to have gotten great results from it.

The basic template looks like this with some guys switching the back squats to single leg squats or front squats on tuesdays and thursdays + smaller accessory work like low back, abs, arms and rear delts.

Quote:

Mon

Squat 5/3/1
DB Overhead Press
DB Row

Tue

Squat 65%x3, 75%x3, 85%x3
DB Incline Bench Press
Chins

Wed

Squat 75%x3, 85%x3, 95%x1
Bench 5/3/1
Chins

Thur

Squat 65%x3, 75%x3, 85%x3
DB Incline Bench Press
Chins

Fri

Squat 75%x3, 85%x3, 95%x1
Overhead Press 5/3/1
Deadlift 5/3/1

WTF where is the back work too offset shitty db pressing exercises?

I saw that as well.

If I'd do something similar, I'd do DB rows or chest supported rows on wednesday and friday too + face pulls wherever I could fit them in. I read the FAQ for the template and Wendler advised against bent over BB rows / Pendlay Rows because the lower back already takes a lot of beating from the high frequency squats.
