Why are a lot of Oly lifters soft looking? I get it in the upper weight classes but how so in the lighter ones?

it's not. it's not at all. balance is a thing in and of itself. Tightrope walkers don't have highly developed "stabiliser muscles", they have good proprioception and coordination and...balance.

Waking my up ass early, preparing preworkout meal and all that is a lot harder now that it's cold. I had not thought about this frown.gif

You're not wrong and I phrased that badly, but if you stand on one foot and do any sort of lateral weightlifting motion, like lifting a dumbbell over the opposite shoulder, you're gonna feel a bunch of muscles firing along the side of the foot and standing leg. If any of them are weak it's going to be a limiting factor.

Depends on who your coach is but you mostly train in doubles and tripples. Not much work for hypertrophy. There's a lot of buff olympic lifters but if you went to a local meet the physique is pretty laughable, especially for people who herald themselves as WEIGHT LIFTERS.

So I have twelve weeks left to bulk and/or recomp, then it's time for a 16 week cut. Hoping if I maintain my weight at 205 now, I could drop 24 pounds in that 16w and step on stage at 181. Would be pretty juicy at that weight. Alternatively I can keep bulking a bit and try to stretch out my final weight to somewhere around 184...which would be incredible.

Either way it means I need to start slowing down the weight gain some. I'll miss you, biweekly Chinese buffets. frown.gif

Gym was packed today so I couldn't be fucked to do my normal back workout of every possible row there is so instead I did some deads. Figured i'd work up to 180kg for a few reps since I haven't deadlifted since springish. Ended up with a 205kg double, which was pretty easy, if I train this for a few weeks 5 plates should be doable.. Video recorded the 180kg double, dat bar speed. inb4 that's 160, plates are, 20, 25, 25, 10. miring floral womens pjs? Weighing about 185 or 190 or something.

Fuck that 3x bw C&J; least NK can do something right....

Good luck at your show TKTJ; and not enough hypertrophy work to look 'big' for amateurs unless you dedicate your life to it and use drugs (most, can usually look better with hypertrophy as extra work).

Nice Pj's fuji :P

Work brought in some clients and provided lunch. Stacked the leftover sandwiches and snacks on a table near our lounge and I went to fuckin' town. I get the "How do you eat so much and not get fat?" question every hour or so.

God I fucken love work lunch days. We get pizza every once in a while and thank fucking god I work at a place that actually orders enough for everyone to eat instead of that "everyone gets three pieces" type bullshit. Usually I end up eating like an entire pizza myself hahaha.
