Will somewhat disagree about the "cutting too early" statement.

I've found that rebounding from a cut is a really good way to pack on strength and muscle as well as to keep you motivated. I don't think anyone who has no muscle base has any business cutting...but I think going on a cut then bulking again is a pretty good way to get past a plateau. I'm blowing past my last 2012 PRs at a lower body weight as a result of cutting.

On another note I'm getting super excited about competing again next spring. Last year my major weakness were chest, back width, and calves and this bulk has brought all of them up to the point where they are becoming strong points. I'm expecting a much more balanced product come next spring. Best part about it is I still have a few months to keep packing on the mass. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I can totally agree with this just from personal experience. Although my 455DL was a DQ, I was hitting 435 at near 180lbs, 455 was at a hair under 170lbs and this is all after that mini-cut I did and bemoaned, but kinda turned out for the best. I'm a leaner 165-170lbs than before and I'm hitting PRs I couldn't at a higher weight in the past.

Yeah, I wanted to start cutting after 400 DL, 350 Squat, 300 Bench but chose to start earlier. I want to get about 8% (currently still at 15%). But even getting to 10 is so hard... censored.gif

Have been a long time lurker, really appreciate legit advice from people like tk and charly who are way ahead of me

So here you go you big beautiful homos

In January at (Im guessing) 9%, ~72kg bodyweight (picture taken to send to a girl, don't hate).

Pictures taken just recently for Markl's pleasure. This is 12.1% according to a DEXA scan I got fo free at ~82kg

What I learnt:
-low bodyfat is more impressive than outright mass to girls
-doing lots of deadlifts and squats make you look blocky and bottom heavy (like I am in the "after" pics). Also not impressive to girls. Im tempted to cut them way back, or maybe just do heavy low volume

I lift half to help me get pussy, and half because I enjoy the feeling of thrashing myself out, so your mileage may vary but thought it might be in line with some people's goals. Any thoughts

I think you're doing pretty good for your goals!
TK what're your numbers looking like?

My squat isn't stalling for some reason, which I'm def not complaining about. After my first set at 340 I thought I'd hit like 3 on the second. After the first rep I thought I'd get like one more, but after the second I got a shit ton of confidence and blew through the rest of the set. Felt fucking good. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Had to do bb glute bridges in the middle of the gym because the area to the side I usually do them at was taken. Could tell I was getting stared at by a ton of people haha, Sad kunts prob mirin my monstrous and powerful glutes.

Indeed. Would smash.

skeen definitely looking good.

I guess cutting is YMMV. This is the first time I'm really seeing post noob gains though so I guess I'm just saying if you have good momentum on growth don't toss it out of fear of getting fat. You can always cut later. If shit stalls or you are competing or w/e thats a different story. I'm at my strongest ever and loving it

lmao what

just make sure to get pics and videos from your meet

Probably won't have anyone there to film my attempts, I'm a lone rider with no one to even apply babypowder for me. I only got these two videos of training for my meet, deadlift I was practicing commands. I've been practicing the commands a lot actually, don't want to rush anything and blow a lift. My deadlift is quit slow, just a warning. I've never done dynamic work and going to try Cube I think after my meet. Maybe some people have form critique, It's a bit too late to change anything though. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Current 1RMs are 305/445/465

Haven't maxed DL in quite some time though so it could potentially be higher

5'10", 205...prob like 14-16% bf now

I wish my bench was even remotely close to that. I'd have a decent total. I've got time to work on it though. I'm considering giving up the big arch for the bench and just doing whatever feels comfortable then adopting the arch.
