I once trained with a dude who was 5'6 310lbs. Saw him recently and he was jacked, asked what happened and he said he got real bad sleep apnea so started taking tren and cut a bunch.

You can try holding your deadlifts at the top on the last rep of the set until you have to drop it. I don't see how mix grip isn't working for you though, should feel pretty good.
I had weak and small forearms until I did boring but big. 5 x 5 then 5 x 10 deadlifts made my grip blow up. Although I nearly dropped my last deadlift rep monday with double overhand, started to pull hook grip now though.
