Honestly man, if you're that tired just take a break. Go sit around the house, watch some shitty TV show, or browse the internet for an hour or something. That's what I would probably do if I was tired and burnt out, but I'm not a bitch.

Sorry for calling you a bitch. shog[1].gif

Yea, go take a nap instead. I'm sure the gains fairy will just fly over from gainsville and waive her little gains wand over your saggy biceps and give you gains in your sleep. Good plan indeed.

Re-reading that K* book and it's still blowing my mind. God bless that guy.

Seriously everyone needs to read this book. I always recommended assess and correct when I started a power lifting routine almost a year ago my friend game me that. But it has an insane high level of entry and I still don't understand 100% of it even after going through it every month for a year. But K* has made this stuff stupid simple.

I might get shit for this, but whenever I feel unmotivated and shitty I usually just take a day off. Would rather go tomorrow and have a nice well-rested killer workout than have a shitty workout today followed by a shitty workout tomorrow.

i dont mind shitty workouts per se; i think helps reinforce the mental aspect of training. not all sessions are going to be amazing, im not always going to be feeling good, but i will always be doing work.

dragged my ass in there and only managed 285x4,2 from last week's 275x5,5. still happy with it

well the nice thing about having your main movement not go perfectly is you have a lot of gas left in the tank to smash your assistance work smile.gif

In a similar vein, when my heavy back squats don't go so well on day 1, I find I'm able to push quite a bit harder on front squats day 4.

Clean and Jerked my daughter and squatted my wife a few of times yesterday; don't worry daughter does gymnastics (foam pits and soft floors). Not that impressive but still feels good :)

Mark I'd reccommend getting your form checked IRL by someone you trust.

Mark posted good squats with lower weights, he just needs to check his ego and squat weight he can actually do at a good depth. That will give him the strength and confidence to go to proper depth and keep his back straight on those max squats.

There's not really much point in doing single reps at that weight anyway.

part of being a real athlete (instead of a dude that's just exercising) is to know your own condition and know yourself, i.e. if you're feeling completely shit you have the balls to take a day off.

That's not to say everytime you train will be comfortable and superb, but you get my point.

It's like charly always says: don't be a bitch.

don't be a bitch with regards to lifting
don't be a bitch wrt recovery and
don't be a bitch wrt food

is I think a good philosophy to go by.
