thanks. i train free and fly, getting somewhat into im. i guess that i need to eat more and do some weight training. i definitely do not want to get bulky, and frankly, i'm not that interested in weights; i'd rather swim.

For chalk I use sidewalk chalk and basically color my hands with it. Keeps the mess down and comes in stylish colors. smile.gif

I strapped up when I made the switch over from 5X5 to IASPBR.

Good stuff

I recently started doing paused squats on my lower hyper days. I will try this breathing stuff too. I think my torso is pretty solid though but I guess it can't hurt.

No chalk allowed and I keep forgetting my eco-ball at home. Might switch to a real gym but it's further away and my jimmies aren't rustled enough. Maybe when the fall/new year crowd hits I'll be motivated.

turns out my gf's brother's good friend is a powerlifter. he's 38 all-time in the CPU - IPF affiliate - junior 82.5kg class. when he was 18 he totaled 1485lb with a 550lb squat, 363 bench and 572lb deadlift @ 178lb. going to lift with him tonight, pretty excited.

use straps, would be a shame to miss out on extra deads on account of grip strength. do some static holds afterwards so it catches up

it takes a ton of food and lifting over a long period of time to "get bulky." squats, deads, overhead pulling (pulldowns, pullups, etc) will give you a strong back and will carry over to your free pretty nicely. i would lift 1-2x a week with some simple low-volume stuff and see where it takes you.

I'm thinking about competing... Just for fun and really competing against myself since I don't foresee wowing or being able to put up much of a fight against the guys in my area.

Damn, may actually start paying attention to his articles then. Shame on me!

Just seems pretty dangerous to me. Seems like it would result in a lot of rounded lower back squats.

Mark, would not hit. I'd be scared of the clit dick.
