Yep. Very poor carb sources for intramuscular glycogen formation.

So I might as well snack on 100cal dark chocolate instead of an apple?
Depends on your fitness goals.

The main reason to avoid fructose is if you're cutting and trying to maintain keto genesis and restore your glycogen stores.

I usually eat two apples prior to working out, then 16oz of grapejuice and 40g of carbogain during workout. Thats prob a lot of fructose...

TK's right, but liver glycogen also gets depleted. No reason to go around thinking fruit is poison.

But don't be a paleotard and get all your carbs from fruit.

Not saying it's poison, but I like chocolate more. Last two apples I tried to eat had worms ffffuuuu.gif

I don't know.whether to cut or bulk now. My recent attempt to "cut" was a massive failure. Still not a ton of muscle mass. I'm much better at dreamer bulk, never had lack of appetite issues!

Well sucrose is a glucose molecule and a fructose molecule stuck together. Might as well go with a bagel
post #33388 of 57256
I think the strudel has a higher fat content

Had a funny conversation with someone who pretty much encapsulates the typical Raleigh person who runs a lot and lifts at a swanky gym. Asked me how my gym was Tuesday night because it was 90* with like 88* humidity and I said it was hot as hell. Person keeps telling me to workout at this place that is stupid expensive, there's an Ace Hardware next to it so I walk by it often and when I see guys walking in there with color matching outfits and gloves already on I can't help to think I should stay as far away from that place as possible. Anyways, person tells me I'm totally that guy who yells when I lift weights and wants to get fat. And that there is nothing wrong with being fit like them, says fit this fit that etc. Our boss walks in and hears the conversation and tries to make a compliment to the person by saying, I've never seen you other than skinny. I laugh at him calling the person skinny and they take big offense.

I think I am done bulking though. I've said 185 is my fighting weight but I've changed my mind to it to be 195. Especially after eating maint here for a few months and cleaning up my carb sources, def leaning out while maintaining 195lbs which is awesome. I have abs on my off days and on most of the day through my workout day.

You're in Raleigh? Ever been to Bob's place downtown, I think Powerhouse is the name? More bodybuilding than powerlifting but def. not an expensive see and be seen place.
