As far as your back rounding it could be a lot of things, but if it's a muscle deficiency it is weak erectors. I am pretty sure some legit strong folks round their backs on DLs... it is what it is. Try and keep the bar as close to in line over your feet as possible to minimize the moment arm, and maybe do some erector accessory work.

Cheers. I tried it out today. Was able to pull 275 fairly easily whereas I was rounding my back at 285 doing conventional. I'm really liking the smaller range of motion. Gonna run it for 4-6 weeks

My gym is down to one 2.5lb plate. One. I told them about it, they better get more, I'm sick of plating up 10 lbs and making faster gain.

What, RDLs? Yea I love them... I got up to 405x6 on regular deads but they were killing my back. I am at 295x~10 now, hammies look great

I don't know what happened today, but I used the ab wheel as per my normal routine, and now my left hip flexor is in some serious pain. angry.gif

Keep pushing the lower body. It's better to have that a bit ahead than upper body.

Thanks for that. I downloaded the spreadsheet. Might end up trying this program in the future. I ended up integrating the reps til failure concept into SS for the last set of the 3x5 on all lifts and found it made my workout that much more intense. Really liking it. My nephew, who is trying to workout too, agreed. Ended up repping 255x11 squat before feeling winded.

For the guys who don't mind spending a little extra on shorts these look promising. I backed it a week or so ago.

Anyhow, squat felt so much better tonight, no pains so I think an extra day of rest helped.

5x5x165, will go for 170 next time.
155x4,145x5,145x4,140x5,140x4 paused bench. Will be shooting for 5x5145 next round, which was tonight's intended target.
5x5 pendlay rows
3x5 dead hang fat grip pull-ups, 3x12 weighted sit-ups

Cool, thanks. Wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but reminds me of outlier and I could use a few pairs of shorts, so I backed them for a couple pairs. Still need to go pick up some 5-7" shorts in the mean time to show off my baby quads. My current athletic shorts are all about 6+ years old shog[1].gif

You're catching up to me and my astonishing 185 1RM on squats.

Leg day today though, and I too have rested for a week and change, and my hip feels at least 90%. Going to try for a PR of at least 200 today.

I wouldn't recommend 1rm-ing anything on squats until you're repping 225 comfortably with good technique.

Lol, better get on that squat then. Still crushing me on bench and dead though... for now. lookaround.gif

Already awake at like 6am? Damn I need to get on that schedule. Would like to start working out before work instead of the middle of the night after my long nap and coffee to reboot shog[1].gif

Kickstarter is pretty cool.... $2500 for 3d printer... oddly tempting.

This is probably actually true...

If it wasn't for this sciatic pain I'd be up there... Whatever, as my dad would say "if grandma had balls she'd be grampa."

And yeah, the semester is starting on Friday so I'm trying to get my schedule back on track. Lifting first thing in the morning is my preference, a nice way to start the day in my opinion. I could never workout after a full day of work and/or school.

morning workout brahs, currently nursing my aeropress brew before i rumble roll my posterior chain and go squat. working out first thing and having 2000cals/1lb of meat eaten by 1pm is a great feeling, don't have to worry about training obligations for the last half of the day.

Wish I had started lifting when I was in school. Had soooo much free time and just wasted it. Woke up after noon on most days, even when I had 9 or 10am classes, skipped so much class. You don't even feel bad about it after a while, "they'll just post the notes online anyways". Fuck totally wasted those years looking back frown.gif

Waking up early in the morning has never really worked for me, can sustain it for about a week but inevitably take a nap and screw up everything when I can't fall back asleep.

Sounds like the perfect time for shorts. Wear jeans every day now because it's too hot to go outside anyways.
