Yea CTK take away the pad, it actually fucks with where the center of the gravity is when squatting thus fucking up your bar bath and leverages. And quit being so wiggly under weights, get tight and stay tight. Although I'm not sure if I could rep 245 x 10 so take this with a grain of salt.

Some dude was doing curls in the squat rack again, with fucking 65 lbs, go get a smaller bar dumbass. In between sets he'd chug his protein shake.

I do 65 to 70 lb barbell curls, granted not in the rack and only if no one else needs the bar i.e.

Monday I did squats, goodmornings, bent over row, barbell curl, then calve raises. I was going to do the goodmornings in the same squat rack but some chick needed it, and I am still only lifting 65 to 75 lb. I just did shoulder presses each time getting ready for my next set.

I actually really liked it and I did not have to move between different areas of the gym. Very efficient

I will try w/o the pad next time. I have to find out where to put the bar. What about depth and all that

Yeah but do you actually use a full size barbell with two 10's on it? WTF would anyone do that for use the smaller ones that are made for it.
Yes I do since I am already using the bar following my other exercises. Monday I basically put on or take off the weights and just keep on trucking along

If you asked me if you could use the barbell I'd give it to you otherwise I don't see the problem if I am out of people's way. I actually find the full barbell a better balance

Ah yeah well then it makes sense. This guy was doing just curls.

I try and leave the barbells free when I can. I'm not afraid to ask someone curling in the squat rack when they are done yadda yadda... but then I kind of shouldn't have to

Another installment of "Story Time with Charly Joung"

About two hours ago, I arrive at my gym.. Friday afternoon, so it's pretty empty.

I get to the only power cage in the whole gym and this guy is doing shrugs in it. He didn't pick the platform with blocks or anyyyyy of the other racks in the gym to do this in. But whatever..

So I ask him how many sets he has left. He tells me "four."

Now I don't know why this 150 pound twat needs to be going 4+ sets of shrugs.. But hey, I'm in a great mood and I'm not in a rush, so I said "no problem, I'll wait."

I didn't notice but this guy is super setting side raises and with his shrugs.

Now I watch this guy do these sloppy ass side raises, doing one side at a time with weight he shouldn't be using. One hand on the cage, one hand just swinging furiously.

He goes, 50lbs both sides.. then takes a 1 minute break.. then 40lbs both sides.. then takes a 1 minute break.. then 30lbs both sides.. then takes a 3-5 minute break then does his shrugs with 365lbs.

I don't think this guy knows what the fuck supersets are supposed to accomplish but I keep my mouth shut.

20 minutes go by and this whole time I've kept my cool watching Ronnie Coleman do his trap/delt routine.

After his last set, I asked him.. "done, now?"

He says "yea.."

He proceeds to gather his belongings. While he's doing so, I say to myself, "I'll help him unrack his weights."

So I strip two 45's and the 25 from the other side, and then stand there.

He picks up his bag and walks away..

I'm surprised that this dickhole just left 3 dumbbells just lying around next to the power cage and didn't bother to rack his weights on the barbell, so I ask him "hey, you going to your weights?"

He looks at me.. looks at the weights.. and then whilst flicking his lifting glove-covered hand attached to his limp wrist, he says "nah, you got that."

I'm in disbelief.. maybe this asshole didn't hear me, so I raise my voice a bit "YO, you going to rack your fucking weights?"

He says "nah" and just starts walking away.

And this is the story of the first time I shouted this so that he and the whole gym heard me loud and clear..

"THEN GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE YOU FUCKING PUSSY ASS BITCH."

I regret not pulling a Captain Kirk and throwing a 45 at his head.

TL:DR - dude doesn't rack his dumbbells and weights. I ask if he wants to rack his weights. He says no. I pronounce to him and the gym that he is a "fucking pussy ass bitch."

This is the gym equivalent of someone pulling forward into a parking spot you're already backing into. The guy knows he's being an asshole and just doesn't give a shit.

I've become super assertive at the gym. Working in, asking someone if they're using the squat rack to curl if i can squat there, that sort of thing. Polite, but firm has gone a super long way.

Try it a few times without and you'll never go back and also wonder , "WTF was I thinking?"
Same with me. Thought I couldn't do without one, now I don't dare use one.

There's just a good vibe around the power racks in my gym. Bodybuilders dont go near them and just stay to their side while it's pretty much unspoken that anyone can work in on the racks or platforms. Like Monday I was squatting in the same rack but on the pins behind a guy repping 600+ on squats. Dude got 9 btw I was like :OOOO

yeah I usually say something subtle like "hey how many more sets of curls do you have in the squat rack?" and then start warming up right next to him. They usually get the hint and leave.

Never had this problem luckily since there are 5 squat racks where I work out. Biggest problem is people leaving weights unracked, then someone comes up to me asking "how many sets you have left?" when the rack next to me has been sitting untouched for a half hour.

I think it's more like someone who leaves their shopping cart at the parking spot because they're so fucking lazy they can't return it to the front and then that cart is left to ding up everyone else's cars.
